Bridge of Orchy Hotel

Bridge of Orchy, Argyll, Bute & The Islands

Details

Bridge of Orchy Hotel is one of the main hotels between Crianlarich and Glencoe on the A82 in the unmistakably Scottish highlands area of serene and beautiful mid Argyll.

Unmissable in a prominent roadside location close to the West Highland Way, a walkers’ paradise. Amidst spectacular scenery, overlooked by the great Beinn Dorain, close to Glencoe and the best climbing, walking and skiing in Scotland, in one of these untouched, remote places that aren’t full of tourists and over-crowded hotels.

The hotels personalized service and ‘can do’ approach is very well exemplified in our bedrooms and a real home from home feel is our priority for you. Expect, and enjoy, 32 cosy, comfortable, warm and welcoming, well-appointed, expertly serviced en suite bedrooms to suit all types of guests - singles, doubles, twins and suite. All are serviced to the highest of standards and are non-smoking.

At this hotel you can expect a very flexible approach to your room requirements here. Fluffy towels and extra bedding as standard. And we can arrange anything for you in your room, by prior request, from a lovely bottle of champage or sparkling rose or white wine to enjoy on arrival, to chocolates, fruit and fresh flowers for the romantics.

It is set in a beautiful location on the river Orchy, and despite its extremely remote location, is easily accessible by car, train, bus, or foot. Activities in the area include walking the West Highland Way, skiing at Glencoe, superb climbing and Munro bagging, and fishing and wonderful white water rafting on the river Orchy.

Bridge of Orchy Hotel has an extensive range of dining opportunities, ranging from a light bar snack, to a relaxing, leisurely dinner in our lovely restaurant, creating a superb ambience in which to enjoy our wonderful Scottish contemporary cuisine. With meals available from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. daily throughout the year, we offer a mouthwatering selection of Scottish dishes, cooked and presented in a subtle contemporary style but with the flavours characteristic of Scotland’s Natural Larder always to the fore and shining through.

Dining in Bridge of Orchy Hotel is a very relaxing and special experience, but surprisingly easy on the pocket as the aim of the proprietors is to provide exceptional value for money, without compromising on quality, quantity, or choice of menu. We enjoy an excellent reputation with discerning local visitors and residents alike, for imaginative, creative, Scottish cuisine (with some subtle modern twists), featuring a fine range of fresh local produce in season (notably West Coast seafood and local prime game, lamb and beef), and of vegetarian dishes and healthy food options.

We are very versatile too. At this accommodation you can expect to dine in style, in our refurbished dining room, or relax and enjoy a ‘time snack’ in our bar restaurant. Our bar, lounge and restaurant are always open to non residents, offering a superb range of culinary delights from full Scottish breakfasts through light lunches to informal dinners. For hotel guests, early breakfasts are available by arrangement.

With such an extravaganza of outdoor activities surrounding us, from light, gentle and relaxing – to real adventure and adrenalin rush – Bridge of Orchy is a highland activity haven. The list is endless and in this section we summarise some real highlights for you. Activity and adventure breaks in Scotland were clearly meant to happen here - and the drama and serenity of the magnificent landscapes which await you just add to the excitement and the evocative atmosphere.
