Yew Tree Farm offers charming self catering accommodation in Coniston, based on our working farm. We are perfect for a rural getaway in a beautiful area of Cumbria.

Our Grade II Listed farmhouse is based in the peaceful Coniston Valley. The house was once owned by Beatrix Potter and has been featured on lots of TV programmes and photo shoots over the years. Based on our working farm, you can even collect eggs from our chickens for breakfast.

The house dates from the 17th Century and offers lots of period furniture and antique pieces, including some owned by Beatrix Potter. There is a panelled sitting room and a dining room opposite. Both rooms come with an open fire and oak floors. At the rear of the property is a well-equipped kitchen.

We have a period staircase that leads to 3 bedrooms. All the bedrooms feature bespoke beds and period decor. Bedrooms include a four-poster double with an adjacent bathroom, a twin en suite and a master room with a king-size bed and en suite facilities.

Outside we have an enclosed garden and patio area with furniture and a BBQ for al fresco dining. You can soak yourself in the hot tub.

We also offer the Herdwick Experience, offering private tours around the farm.

Our farmhouse is in a great location for walkers, with a public footpath running around the perimeter of our farm fields. You can visit Coniston Water or one of the nearby towns or villages. Attractions to visit include:

Windermere Jetty Museum.

Brantwood.

The Old Man of Coniston.

The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction.

Rydal Mount and Gardens.
