Peterhouse Cottages offers delightful self catering accommodation near Bassenthwaite, based in a beautiful area of Cumbria. We in a tranquil setting and boast Lake District views.

We have 2 tastefully furnished cottages to choose from. Each property comes with beams and sleeps 5 and 4 people.

Pembroke Cottage – Sleeps 4

Our cottage has two downstairs bedrooms: 1 double and 1 twin. The twins can be made as a super king. The room share a bathroom with a shower over bath. Steps lead to a spacious open plan living area with a sofa, comfortable chairs, TV with DVD player and coal effect electric fire. The well-equipped has an electric cooker, microwave and fridge. A separate dining area seats 4. Outside we have a small, enclosed garden, great for a coffee in the morning sun.

Peter House Cottage – Sleeps 5

We offer accommodation for up to 5 people in Peter House Cottage, based at the top of the farmyard. The property was converted from a 17th Century barn and offers plenty of character. The well-equipped kitchen comes with an electric cooker, microwave and fridge. Unwind in the living area that comes with seating open fire, TV and a DVD player. A dining room seats 5.

Small steps lead down to a beamed double bed. A small stairway from the dining area leads to a large family bedroom with a double bed and a single bed. The bedrooms share a bathroom with a shower over bath. Outside there is a seating area with a table and chairs for al fresco dining. A small enclosed grandee over the yard is shared with Pembroke Cottage.

You can explore the village of Bassenthwaite whilst staying with us. Walk around Bassenthwaite whilst Lake or head to Whinlatter Forest to see the osprey. A short drive will take you to the market towns of Keswick on Derwentwater. Attractions to visit include:
