South Coombe is perfectly situated in one of the most beautiful parts of Devon. Our cottages are of the highest standard and are suitable for parties of between two and six people.

All our cottages have been beautifully renovated from former barns which date back to the 18th Century. Each cottage includes smart TVs, a well-equipped kitchen and fabulous outside seating areas for BBQs whilst savouring the views. You also have access to a range of fantastic facilities onsite: indoor heating swimming pool, sauna, games room, toddlers tumble room, outdoor play areas, free range hens and ducks, 15 acres and BBQ areas.

Tikes: Two converted barns that have retained many of their original beams. Tike’s Cottage combines the cottages of Tilly’s & Drake’s which have a common hallway and are very spacious, benefiting from one double bedroom, one king-sized bedroom, two double / twin bedrooms (6ft zip & link beds), one twin bedroom with bunk beds and three bathrooms (one en-suite).

Drakes: This spacious and airy cottage has large open-plan sitting, dining and kitchen areas with patio doors leading to the garden. Drake’s Cottage has a luxury bathroom with a large shower and a white bathroom suite. The cottage is equally suitable for families who want extra space or couples who are looking for peace and relaxation.

Jonquil: This charming and characterful cottage, with its original walls and oak beams, has been converted from the old hayloft. It has been further renovated to provide a new bathroom, complete with over–bath shower, a fully fitted modern kitchen area and full central heating. Jonquil Cottage is a perfect tranquil retreat for a romantic break at any time of year.

Saffi's Cottage: Converted from the old stables, this cottage has been thoughtfully renovated, retaining most of the original beams including a very unusual one on the staircase. This is a three-bedroomed cottage with modern facilities and has the benefit of its own private patio and garden with spectacular views over the open countryside. It has a kitchen and an en-suite shower–room downstairs. Background heating is by night storage heaters. A wonderful hot tub is perfect for soaking your troubles away in.

Tilly's: A converted barn, which has retained many of the original beams. Tilly’s Cottage is very spacious, benefiting from three double bedrooms and two bathrooms. The patio area at the rear looks towards the duck ponds and rolling countryside beyond. Look out for the hens and ducks as they patrol the grounds.

Orchard Cottage: Our premier cottage – it is a beautifully restored former cart-house, originally constructed from cob and now tastefully modernised to offer luxury contemporary living. Orchard Cottage stands in its own private garden, adjacent to South Coombe’s cider orchard. Outside, enjoy a glass of bubbly in the luxurious hot tub.

Shepherd Huts: We are excited to announce that we have ordered a brand new, bespoke shepherds hut for romantic short breaks at beautiful South Coombe! Designed for 2 adults, our ‘Merino’ Shepherds hut will be the last word in luxury, with its own en-suite shower room and toilet, high-end Neff appliances and a smart TV. There’s also a beautiful glass roof panel above the bed for star gazing, a private garden and hot tub! Guests will be able to enjoy our 15 beautiful acres of countryside here, together with our five-star facilities such as our indoor heated pool and sauna.

The local village of Witheridge is a short walk away, down our famous Devon lanes. Nearby, there are many such memorable walks to be had, exploring our immediate environs, the wildlife and the abundant countryside beauty. Of course, we are in reach of many of Devon’s visitor attractions. There are lots of activities and places to visit in the area, and we have included a few here to get you started.
