The Anchor Inn is a family-orientated local pub offering excellent accommodation, delicious food and quality drink in the quintessential village of Hartfield. Our pub is perfect for exploring Ashdown Forest and a range of attractions in East Sussex.

We have a variety of country-style rooms available in our charming 15th Century manor house. All of the rooms are en suite and come with comfy beds to lay your head on at night. All the rooms include a flat-screen TV with Freeview and radio a hair dryer, drinking water, tea/coffee-making facilities and free Wi-Fi. A lovely continental breakfast is included in your stay and on weekends you can choose a hearty English breakfast.

You can savour fantastic seasonal food and drink while staying with us. Our lunch menu offers a great range of snacks or more substantial dishes. We also offer a wonderful Sunday Roast which has become a favourite from our regulars. In the afternoon, enjoy a leisurely meal over tapas and in the evening, we offer a superb three-course menu. A private dining area is also available.

The bar offers a great selection of drinks to suit all tastes. Whether it’s a pint, a glass of wine or spirit, we have something for anyone. In the summer months, enjoy a drink in our beautiful beer garden whilst the sun is shining. In the chillier months, stay inside and keep toasty in front of one of the two roaring log fires.
