Field Barn Park

Bourton-on -the-Water, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire

Details

Field Barn Park was created exclusively as an over-30s site, offering visitors the perfect place to relax in the beautiful English countryside. It provides an ideal retreat to recharge, unwind and enjoy peace and quiet with friends old and new. Situated in a small, secluded fold of the Cotswold Hills, the park is well-suited to caravans, tents and motorhomes, while being just a mile and a half from Bourton-on-the-Water near Cheltenham, with all its shops, cafés and attractions. Carefully chosen for its peaceful location away from roads, traffic, houses and streetlights, it is also the perfect base for exploring the beauty of Gloucestershire.

The site offers 53 free-draining grass pitches set over limestone, each with access to a 10-amp electric hook-up and mains tap water, both included in your stay. Guests are welcome to request a specific pitch or area when booking. Well-behaved dogs are welcome at £5 per day (maximum 2 per pitch) and there is direct access to public footpaths from the park, making it easy to enjoy walks in the surrounding countryside.

The washroom block, housed in a charming Cotswold stone barn with underfloor heating, offers separate areas for ladies and gentlemen, plus a dedicated bathroom for disabled guests. There are three shower cubicles for each, providing beautifully warm water on demand. The block is cleaned daily by wardens, who also replenish supplies of loo paper and hand soaps. Guests are asked to bring their own towels, as these are not provided.

The campsite utility room contains two sinks for washing up, along with a fridge, freezer and microwave. A pay-as-you-go washing machine and tumble dryer are available, as well as an iron and ironing board. Wifi is available in the reception area only.

During the summer months, every Saturday evening features a professional pizza stall on the park. Silvo, a genuine Italian chef, bakes fresh pizzas to order for guests to enjoy. In addition, a local Indian restaurant offers delivery to the park throughout the season, giving visitors even more dining options without having to leave the site.

There are many interesting places to visit in the local area, such as The Cotswold Farm Park with its many rare breeds, The Cotswold Wildlife Park outside Burford, Westonbirt Arboretum, the Roman Villa at Chedworth and the medieval wool churches of Chipping Campden, Northleach, Burford and Cirencester. The Civil War hilltop town of Stow on the Wold has a good collection of shops, cafes, inns and curio shops. There are golf courses at Naunton and Burford and trout farms at Donnington and Bibury.
