Salen Pier Holidays offers a range of wonderful self catering accommodation on the Isle of Mull, based in a truly spectacular and unique setting. Our properties boast stunning views of the Sound of Mull and Salen Bay, perfect for a magical getaway.

Salen Pier used to hold historical significance, being the nearest pier on Mull to Oban. Goods (including cars, only one or two of which could be craned aboard the Lochinvar) for the south of Mull would disembark here. The daily run between Oban and Tobermory was abandoned in 1964 when a pier was built at Craignure and a car ferry service was introduced.

In 2007 the pier was taken over by the current owners to be beautifully refurbished to its original condition and now offers superb accommodation. You can choose from Salen Pier House, Salen Pier Lodge, Salen Pier Apartment, Salen Pier Haven and Salen Pier Point. All the properties are beautifully furnished and ideal for a memorable coastal holiday. Salen Pier Point and Haven are the only accommodation on a pier in the UK !

Salen Pier House – Sleeps 14:

Our wonderful property sleeps up to 14 people in 8 bedrooms and offers breathtaking views. A spacious lounge comes with lots of seating, Sony smart TV, DVD, Sonos sound system and log burning stove. Rustle up some delicious dishes in the fully equipped kitchen that includes an electric range cooker, microwave, dishwasher, filter coffee machine, grilling machine, food processor, large fridge freezer and wine/drinks fridge. You can also unwind in the large conservatory which has seating and a dining table. This is the ideal spot for enjoying a delicious meal whilst savouring the amazing views.

On the first floor, we have the Pier Suite, the Forsa Suite, twin room and a single. Pier Suite has a superking size bed, TV, en suite facilities, plus a delightful Juliet balcony which offers views over the pier and across the Sound. Forsa Suite has a king size bed, TV, en suite facilities and a charming Juliet balcony too.

The ground floor has 3 twin rooms and 1 single room. All the twin rooms boast gorgeous views. There’s also a shower room and a bath/shower room. Outside there is a patio area with outdoor furniture for al fresco dining and you can soak away your troubles in the luxurious hot tub whilst enjoying the views.

Salen Pier Lodge – Sleeps 4:

Our fabulous lodge sleeps 4 people in 2 attractive bedrooms and boasts glorious views. Inside there is a fully equipped kitchen with a 4 ring hob, 2 ovens, microwave, dishwasher, washer/dryer, fridge, large freezer & cafetiere. Unwind in the cosy open plan living area that’s a toasty log burner, underfloor heating and flat-screen TV/DVD player. You can also relax in the large conservatory whilst enjoying the stunning views.

Two spacious bedrooms are available, a super king and twin room. Both rooms come with a TV and share a modern bathroom with a bath/shower suite. Outside there is a fantastic hot tub, perfect for relaxing with a glass of bubbly enjoying the stunning views.

Salen Pier Point – Sleeps 4:

The pier has the only holiday accommodation on a pier in the UK, offering a truly unique place to stay. A lovely lounge area comes with a TV, DVD player and Sonos sound system. This is a great space to unwind whilst savouring views of the Sound of Mull, plus east facing views to Glenforsa airstrip in the distance. Cook up a storm in the modern kitchen that includes a dishwasher, fridge/freezer, induction hob and combi oven washer/dryer etc. Two attractive en suite bedrooms are available, a super king and a twin room.

Salen Pier Haven - Sleeps 2:

Our wonderful property sleeps 2 people and is nestled right on the head of pier. The property comes with a galley kitchen with induction hob and shower room. From the lounge area are stunning two aspect views, Sony TV plus Sonos sound system.

Salen Pier Apartment – Sleeps 2:

This superb apartment is great for a romantic break on the coast. The first-floor apartment comes with a lovely king size bed plus a sofa bed. Rustle up some delicious dishes in the fully-equipped kitchen that include an induction hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, combi oven, washing/dryer machine and sink. After a busy day exploring, relax in the cosy lounge whilst enjoying the amazing views of the Sound of Mull.

You can visit lots of brilliant attractions in the area. In Tobermory, there are tea rooms, pub, restaurants, a book shop and silver smith. Enjoy a tour of the local distillery or visit the majestic Glengorm Castle Estate. Great attractions to visit include:
