Surprise View Cottages are nestled on a farmstead in the North York Moors National Park (Heartbeat Country), Kirkbymoorside in North Yorkshire. Surprise View Cottages have been converted from barns alongside the historic buildings which once housed a mill and tannery.

Surprise View Cottage : It has a sunny south-facing aspect and lawn area backing onto fields. The ground floor has entrance hall leading to two bedrooms, 1 double, 1 twin, both with built-in vanity units and wardrobes and a wealth of locally crafted pine furniture.

The bathroom has bath suite with toilet and washbasin & powerful shower over the bath.

From the entrance hall a staircase leads up to a high-beamed lounge with log-burning stove set in a brick on rustic stone wall, and round to a spacious fitted kitchen & dining area; entry to this can also be by the separate outside stone stairway. There are fitted carpets throughout the cottage with pretty fabrics and furnishings. Services - Full oil-fired central heating, and fuel for the woodburning stove. Flatscreen colour TV, DVD, CD / radio, washing machine, dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave and phone are all provided. There is ample parking for two cars.

Field Barn Cottage : The beamed entrance hall opens onto carpeted lounge which has beams, two rustic stone walls and living flame gas stove; large french windows and arrow windows give panoramic views over valleys and woods.

The hall also opens onto a large, fitted kitchen with stone-walled dining area. There is oak wood flooring throughout and french windows giving access to another patio area overlooking the historic farm and mill buildings, woods & open moorland. There are two arrow windows with views up and down the valley. The carpeted staircase leads up to two bedrooms, one double and one twin, both with fitted vanity units, drawers, wardrobes and enclosed shelf space. Each has wonderful views over open countryside. The bedlinen is co-ordinated and plentiful with either duvets or blankets. The bathroom has bath suite, washbasin, toilet and powerful shower over the bath. Services - Full oil-fired central heating, and gas for hob and fire. Flatscreen TV, DVD, CD / radio, washing machine, dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave and phone are all provided.

Surprise View Cottages are on the southern edge of the North York Moors National Park. They are within easy reach of Scarborough, Whitby, York and Thirsk. They are in the centre of one of the most beautiful areas in the North of England; you are literally on the edge of the Moors which are renowned for panoramic scenery and are now one of the largest area of SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest) rolling hills, steep escarpments, hidden villages, forests, abundant wildlife and wide-open spaces make this a unique area which has appeal right through the year.
