Overbigging is located on Orkney mainland and is less than a 10 minute drive from Stromness. It is a three bedroom farmhouse available for holiday lets and comfortably sleep six people and is furnished and decorated to a high standard. Conveniently situated, the house provides the ideal base for you to explore the many fascinating historical sites and the beautiful countryside. Within walking distance of the house, you will find Orkneys best trout loch and three World Heritage sites - Maes Howe, the Standing Stones of Stenness and the Ring of Brodgar.

The two reception rooms are furnished as a living room and sitting room. In addition to the dining table and chairs, the living room has soft seating for six people and is where guests tend to spend most of their time. This room is also equipped with a Freeview TV, DVD player, wireless router and Hi-Fi. The sitting room is a most peaceful place to relax and read, although there is also Freeview TV, DVD player and a PlayStation.

The kitchen has everything you would expect at home:

Dish washer, washing machine and tumble drier.

Fridge freezer and freezer.

Micro wave, grill, coffee maker, crock pot.

Gas hob and electric oven.

A large selection utensils, dishes etc

An extra shower room with toilet and hand basin has been added to ease the morning scrum.

Our holiday cottage located conveniently for the tourist in the centre of the Mainland. It is surrounded by farm land although the out buildings are now only used for storage. There is a garage/general store in Stenness Village about a mile and a half away, where the The Standing Stones Hotel serves excellent bar food and evening meals.

Fishing in Orkney is effectively free although it is appreciated if a donation is made to the Orkney Trout Fishing Association. You are free to keep your catch but please exercise reason. Orkney is a fantastic place for those that love the out doors. There are several RSPB reservations and many fantastic coastal walks.
