Uplands House is a delightful place offering comfortable guest accommodation overlooking an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Oxfordshire. It stands in a beautiful garden, amidst lush parkland planted with majestic trees and is hidden away down a long drive in the glorious countryside.

We are only 20 – 25 minutes by car from Moreton in Marsh, Stratford on Avon and Warwick Castle, and this is a great base from which to explore and discover the Cotswolds. Everything you will want to see is within easy driving distance.

We try to provide the very best of English country house hospitality. You will enjoy an enthusiastic welcome, beautifully furnished comfortable rooms and lovely views over the parklands. We will provide tasty organic produce, great cooking, a surprisingly good wine list, log fires and every comfort in relaxing and peaceful surroundings. Here you will find kindness, you will be cherished and you will be able to relax. Wireless internet is provided but please bring your own laptops.

The Bedrooms: All bedrooms have lovely views and their own en suite bathrooms in which we provide large fluffy towels and dressing gowns, soap, shampoo and bubble bath. Guests will also find in their room’s fresh flowers, a colour television, radio clock, tea and coffee making facilities, heated rollers, hair dryer and a laptop/phone charger socket.

The Garden: The house stands in its own lovely, tranquil garden, facing south over a ha-ha, and across the grassy pastures planted with mature trees. The sheep graze peacefully. There is a large lawn, suitable for croquet and badminton, a very pretty rose garden with a waterfall and a lilypond. Elsewhere scented roses, hedges of lavender and tangles of clematis, wisteria and honeysuckle provide a haven for wild birds. There are secluded places to sit and ponder.

Uplands is a special place to stay because of the peace and tranquillity which pervades everything. Poppy and Graham work together to give their guests the best possible time. They love meeting people, and chatting with them, and encourage them to have dinner at home. Poppy is a picture restorer, and Graham is an engineer and has retired from teaching at Kings College, London and is the embodiment of action man.

Both have been Olympic fencers and are still active on the veteran circuit. After years of charity fundraising and organizing the catering for countless events, Poppy has won many accolades for her creative cooking and takes great pleasure in her cuisine. She likes to greet the guests and give them a proper old-fashioned tea, and if they like, dinner too. Graham's practical skills are invaluable in keeping everything running smoothly.
