Clochfaen Cottages are a pair of Grade II listed semi detached cottages that offer self catering holiday accommodation in Llanguiring near Llanidloes in Powys. The Cottages were constructed in 1912 of local stone and in the arts and crafts style and stand in an elevated yet secluded position 250 yards to the south west of The Clochfaen main house, in the grounds of the estate.

North cottage and South cottage have commanding views over the Wye valley, Llangurig and Voel Curig Mountain. A fine location for holidays in winter or summer. North cottage and South cottage each have pedestrian access from the stable yard via a steep path leading to front doors at first floor level on the west side of the cottages. Both holiday cottages have Sky television and DVD players, are tastefully furnished and decorated, have modern kitchens with washing machines, modern bathrooms and are heated by an 'eco- friendly' wood pellet burning central heating system, which uses carbon neutral fuel. North cottage has three bedrooms (two double rooms, and one single bedroom) a shower room, wash room, sitting room and kitchen dining room. North cottage and South cottage have an interconnecting door at bedroom level and can be used together as a single accommodation unit for larger groups.

Hire charges include bed linen, electricity and heating. No pets are permitted. Lettings are subject to terms and conditions posted on this website. Prices for the cottages are not subject to VAT.

Clochfaen cottages are ideally located for attractions in Mid Wales, with the Elan Valley Lakes and Rhayader to the south, Devil's Bridge and Falls, Aberystwyth and the Cambrian coast 25 miles to the west. Please note that, by reason of the hillside location of the cottages and steep pedestrian access from the stable yard to the front doors at rear first floor level, they are not readily accessible to the physically disabled. Guests at Clochfaen cottages may have the opportunity to use four miles of private fly fishing on the river Wye and rough shooting in season by written permission from the owners, the Clochfaen Partnership.

Directions from the North:

From Welshpool, follow the A483 south through Newtown, and on to Caersws. At the railway crossing, continue along A470 for Llangurig, which will bring you to the approach to the village. Take the A44 towards Aberystwyth into the village. Immediately in front of the Black Lion Hotel, turn left, crossing the river Wye, and on along the lane, branching right after about a quarter of a mile. This lane to the right winds up the hillside and ends just beyond the main Clochfaen House.

Directions from the South:

From Rhayader, follow the A470 to Llangurig. On the approach to Llangurig, take the A44 towards Aberstwyth into the village. Immediately in front of the Black Lion Hotel, turn left, crossing the river Wye, and on along the lane branching right after about a quarter of a mile. This lane to the right winds up the hillside and ends just beyond the main Clochfaen House.
