The Crown & Victoria Inn Bed & Breakfast is in a beautiful setting and location in South Somerset, with easy access right off the A303. You’ll find a warm and friendly welcome at our family run 300 year old bed & breakfast hamstone inn, which is also home to multi-award-winning North Indian Cookery school, food events & meal kits business, Pure Punjabi.

Bed & breakfast rooms are available all year round. Booking directly with us gives you the greatest flexibility and best offers. Please note that when using the calendar to check availability, the booking calendar shows 3 rooms, but do check back with us as we have a fourth room for booking offline.

Food

Open Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday 12-3.00 pm for licensed cafe-style food service. Open Friday evenings for food service 6-8 pm during summer – closing 9 pm, subject to demand. To book a table, please email: [email protected] or use the link above ‘book a table’ on our website.

The restaurant & bar are open from 1st April September, 12-3 pm for light lunches, Ploughmans, sandwiches, tea, coffee and cake. This in line with the opening of The National Trust Tintinhull Gardens, next door.

An evening meal can be arranged for B&B guests and for group bookings.

Events

The function room/conservatory is available for hire for wakes, christenings and special events. Pop-up restaurants with events, and cookery workshops are held by our parent company Pure Punjabi.

There are plenty of things to do near our country inn. We are next door to The National Trust Tintinhull gardens, with 3 more gardens within easy access at Montacute, Lytes Cary and Barrington Court.

Sightseeing: Visit Ham Hill, Castle Cary, Montacute, and the National Trust properties nearby, as well as Tintinhull Gardens, which is neighbouring our inn.

Fleet Air Arm Museum: Europe's Number 1 Naval Aviation museum, representing the Royal Navy In the Air. With four exhibition halls, over ninety aircraft and over 2 million records and 30 thousand artefacts the Museum is Europe's largest naval aviation Museum. In addition it houses the first British Concorde which you can go on board, view the cockpit and visit the award winning Aircraft Carrier Experience.

Walks: There are lots of interesting walking paths from The Crown & Victoria, making it easy to explore the beautiful Somerset landscape.

The West Country: As well as discovering the rolling landscapes and pretty hamstone villages of Somerset, we are ideally situated to explore the beautiful county of Dorset, Devon & Cornwall.
