The Lynch Country House is a classic English country house set in beautiful, peaceful and secluded gardens in the town of Somerton in Somerset. The guest accommodation is a hidden gem that you wouldn't even know was there, a little haven of peace and quiet and the perfect place to spend quality time away from the hustle and bustle of the wider world just beyond the trees.

We have three room categories at The Lynch Country House and all offer the same British, 5 star, handmade, mattresses found in some of the best hotels in Britain. They are covered with fabulous goose down and feather duvets and pillows. Finally the beds are dressed with crisp white linen to ensure you have the very best and most comfortable night's sleep.

All rooms have luxury fluffy white bathrobes and towels for extra comfort. Our Duck Island mandarin and bergamot bath toiletries are environmentally friendly, as well as never being tested on animals.

All rooms have flat screen TV’s and offer complimentary Wi-Fi access for your convenience.

Breakfast is served in our light and airy Orangery and you are most welcome to choose from the breakfast table a selection of popular cereals, fresh fruits, award winning, smooth and creamy French 'Ferme des Peupliers' fruit yoghurts and freshly squeezed orange juice. This is followed by our traditional Lynch Country House breakfast.

A short stroll will take you into the Saxon town of Somerton, possession of the Saxon Kings until well after the Middle Ages and the ancient capital of Wessex.

Today Somerton boasts a mix of impressive older buildings, a substantial 13th Century church and the grand centre piece of the ancient Market Cross. The town offers several cafés, pubs and a bistro all of which supply a range of beverages and food to suit the visitors needs and there is plenty of free parking available in the town or indeed at the Lynch.

The area surrounding Somerton makes it an ideal base for exploring the West Country. Within easy reach is the town of Street, famous for its Clarks shoes and now a Mecca for shoppers at Clarks Village. Nearby are Glastonbury with its ruined abbey and mystic Tor; Wells with its magnificent Cathedral and Bishop’s Palace and Cheddar and Wookey both famous for their cave systems. With miles of fabulous countryside and interesting villages and the spectacular Jurassic coast only 40 minutes away there is plenty to keep you occupied.

There are a variety of walks locally and the area is also very popular with cyclists. We are happy to store your bikes in a secure outbuilding on site. With a little notice we can arrange for a day's shooting, either rough in season or clays out. Coarse fishing is available in the adjacent lakes, which are famous for large specimen Carp. We can also arrange a round of golf at Long Sutton Golf Club just a couple of miles down the road.
