Situated in the heart of Scotland's North Highlands, Achue Croft Cottage at Bonar Bridge offers charming self catering accommodation, just a few miles from Royal Dornoch. We are only an hour North of the Highlands capital of Inverness, making us the ideal base for exploring the area.
Achue Croft Cottage offers a fully equipped, comfortable holiday home surrounded by some of the country’s most stunning landscapes. This idyllic location is teeming with wildlife, from birds to sea mammals like seals and bottlenose dolphins. With excellent trout and salmon fishing opportunities and countless ways to enjoy the natural habitat, there’s something for everyone to experience.
The cottage is thoughtfully designed for comfort and convenience. Downstairs, you’ll find a cosy sitting room with seating for six, a TV, DVD player and music system. The fully equipped kitchen features a gas hob, electric oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, kettle, toaster and mixer, along with all necessary crockery and cutlery. A separate dining area also seats six and the sun lounge provides the perfect spot to relax while taking in breathtaking views.
The ground floor bedroom boasts a king-size double bed with an ensuite toilet and shower. Upstairs, there are two additional bedrooms: one double and one twin, accompanied by a shared bathroom with a toilet.
Outside, the enclosed garden features a south-facing patio, perfect for soaking up the sun. There’s parking available for two to three cars, with the cottage situated 200 metres off the road for added privacy. Guests are welcome to explore the surrounding fields and hills, though caution is advised and gates should be left as found.

Close by, you can enjoy woodland walks, shoreline strolls at Dornoch, or hikes over the hills, with opportunities for salmon, trout and sea fishing. Golf enthusiasts can play at the renowned Royal Dornoch, just 20 minutes away, or explore any of the 21 courses in the area, including the charming 9-hole Bonar course only 2 miles from the cottage. Cyclists can take advantage of several mountain biking trails or leisurely ride along the quiet country roads. For history lovers, Dunrobin Castle, the ancestral home of the Dukes of Sutherland, and the poignant abandoned settlements from the Highland Clearances await exploration. Step even further back in time by following the Pictish Trail to discover Iron Age brochs and ancient sites.
