There has been an Inn at Fossebridge located on the banks of the River Coln, between Northleach and Cirencester, for more than 300 years.
All supplies would in those days have been transported around the country by horse drawn carriage. The Inn was established as a ‘watering hole’ and stopover because additional horses had to be attached to pull the carriages up the very steep hill on the other side.
It is thought that the Fireplace in the Bar was originally a forge for shoeing the horses.

Merrymouth Inn offers guest accommodation located just outside the pretty Oxfordshire village of Fifield and equidistant 4 miles to Burford, Bourton on the Water and Stow on the Wold. We are just a short drive away from Cheltenham Racecourse, Cotswold Water Park at Cirencester, Blenheim Palace, Oxford, Stratford on Avon and Warwick Castle.
The nine double or twin bedrooms are located to the rear of the inn in an attractively converted stable block. Each of the stylish and comfortable rooms includes an en suite bathroom, tea and coffee making facilities and television. Breakfast is served until noon.
