We are very, very passionate about our food. We love food. At the heart of our love is a passion for all things seasonal and, even more importantly, a passion for all things grown and reared in the local area. Here, in this little bit of England, we grow and rear some of the best raw ingredients this country produces. Add to this the issue of food miles, and we'd be crazy NOT to use local produce, even if it wasn't as good as it is. Therefore, if it's at all possible, we use produce grown or reared within a 20 mile rad…

Il Marchigiano at The Plum Pudding is set in the heart of Armitage, near Rugeley, next to the canalside. The Restaurant is warm and inviting with a wonderful atmosphere. Served here, you will find authentic Italian dishes from the ‘Le Marche’ region of Italy, that are both sumptuous and mouthwatering. Giuseppe Iaconi – otherwise known as ‘Il Marchigiano’ is now at the Plum Pudding for you to experience recipes passed down through generations, using locally sourced produce to create traditional Italian cuisine with a unique distinctive flavour.
Cooking in the Marche is deeply rooted in peasant tradition and remains impervious to the arrival of frozen ‘bastoncini de pesce’ (fish fingers). Here the home cook rather than the professional chef rules and even the smartest restaurants seek to produce food just like ‘nonna’ or grandmother used to make. The main menu offers a wide array of pa…
