Five Star Gold Luxury Self catering Holiday Cottages in the Derbyshire Dales alongside the Peak District National Park with superb views across the Derwent Valley

 WELCOME!

Matt welcomes you to Holestone Moor Barns 5* Gold, luxury self catering holiday cottages sleeping a total of 13 people in 7 bedrooms, for small and large groups, in the Derbyshire Dales.  (The Barn sleeps 9, the Stables,4).  It’s just 5 minutes drive from the Peak District National Park and Matlock.

The cottages form part of a historic range of farm buildings, perched almost 1,000 feet above sea level and boast 6 acres of woodland, meadow and wildlife pond plus a large garden with seating, barbecues and climbing frame, plus a well-equipped games room & toddlers playroom.

A short drive takes guests to historic market towns, picturesque villages and some of the finest countryside in Britain.

Holestone Moor Barns holiday cottages are luxurious conversions from two 200 year old stone farm buildings which stand adjacent to Holestone Moor Farm, the old farm house, where Matt lives.  It’s a bit like the Forth Bridge, in that redecorating, replacing and upgrading, both inside and out,  goes on continually.  This helps to keep standards high as well as providing a  luxurious ‘home from home’ for guests.  Since the cottages opened in 1999, Holestone Moor Barns cottages have been graded at 5* Gold by VisitEngland, with 100% for cleanliness, thanks to our wonderful housekeepers.  Judging by the comments in our visitors’ books, and the number of guests who return, something must be going right!

There’s lots to do for children of all ages, with an indoor games room (DVD room above) and almost five acres of grounds to explore. There’s woodland with a summerhouse, wildflower meadow and and a wildlife pond as well as a grassed area for games with climbing castle, swing and slide, barbecues and picnics.  There are also barbecues in the courtyard (subject to the weather).

The cottages area is utterly peaceful and well away from main roads. At almost 1000 feet above sea level there are some wonderful weather effects and beautiful starry skies. Sitting out in the evenings over a bottle of wine on a clear night, you may even experience the Northern Lights!

There won’t be a key under the mat or a cold dark house when you arrive ..  Matt will be waiting to welcome you!  He lives on site and you can benefit from his local knowledge to make the very best of your stay in Derbyshire. You will find a gift of freshly baked cake/s from our local Riber View Farm shop, eggs from our very own hens, tea, coffee, sugar and milk for that all important cup of tea before you unpack.

We can offer excellent links to caterers who will provide you with a superb in house dining experience.
also see contact & links page for more.

Because of our proximity to our neighbour’s working dairy farm we regret that we are unable to accept pets.
