Between the Cheviot Hills and the Northumberland coastline, Woodhead Holiday Cottages are set in an idyllic country location in central Northumberland overlooking Brinkburn Priory in the tranquil and scenic Coquet Valley near Rothbury and the Northumberland National Park, an area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB).
Take time out to relax and enjoy the views or explore the many miles of footpaths over the hills and beautiful moorland. A host of activities can be arranged. The area has a wealth of history and heritage with plenty of Castles and Country Houses to visit.

Our cottages are in a country location near Rothbury and accessed from a private road. The cottages enjoy wonderful country views to the coast.
Our cottages are both spacious and comfortable, with Kingsized beds, En-Suite bathrooms, Woodburning Stoves, Picture windows with views over rolling countryside and private, landscaped gardens to enjoy.
We include all linens and towels and provide guests with a luxury welcome breakfast hamper packed full of tasty treats…Marmalade, Bread, Ground Coffee, eggs, and cereal to name but a few.

We have an abundance of wildlife in the surrounding countryside that also frequent the cottage gardens. British Birds and mammals such as hedgehogs and deer, badgers and hares.
Many miles of country walks from the cottage’s doorstep.
Dark Skies + Stargazing
It’s safe to say that Northumberland is the best place to stargaze in the UK. 572 square miles of the county have been awarded Gold Tier status for their pristine dark skies, and Northumberland’s International Dark Sky Park is the largest in the UK.
We have these wonderful dark skies above for evenings of stargazing from the cottage gardens.
