Located in the peaceful countryside of Royal Deeside, Scotland, Tanar View is a serene getaway, right at the entrance to the majestic Glen Tanar estate and the sprawling expanse of the Cairngorms National Park.

This inviting self-catering apartment offers expansive views across Caledonian pine forest while remaining a mere five-minute journey from the picturesque village of Aboyne, Aberdeenshire. South facing, this bright apartment comfortably houses four guests in one double bedroom and a second room with adult-sized bunk beds. A travel cot is also available for those travelling with infants.

The apartment's living space is open and airy featuring sofas set before a warming log burning stove, a spacious dining area and a kitchen equipped with everything needed for a delightful stay. Entertainment options include a 19” flat screen Smart TV/DVD, Amazon Echo and a radio/CD player, alongside a selection of DVDs/CDs. Complimentary Wifi ensures guests stay connected. The contemporary shower room is complete with luxury toiletries from Scottish Fine Soaps.

An extensive south-facing upper deck provides a picturesque setting for alfresco dining and bird watching. The area is a haven for wildlife, with red deer, roe deer, grouse, red squirrels, hares, badgers, various birds and potentially even a Golden Eagle in view, not to mention the Highland cows that are sometimes grazing below (usually from April - November).

The lower deck's hot tub offers spectacular views, ensuring privacy and tranquility at any hour. and is cleaned and maintained daily. An outdoor firepit invites guests to enjoy the star-filled skies above.

Included in your stay are linens, towels robes and all utilities (electric heating, logs, and kindling). An EV charging station is available on site (chargeable).

Well-behaved, friendly dogs are welcome for an additional fee (£30 per dog - max two). Given the local wildlife and livestock, dogs must be kept under control.

Tanar View's prime location makes it the perfect choice for fishing on the River Dee, walking, cycling and engaging in the many activities the Cairngorms have to offer - or simply relaxing. . Adventure seekers can also explore the skies with the Aboyne Gliding Club just across the river. For guests attending weddings, we are conveniently located near the Glen Tanar ballroom and Coo Cathedral and offer three night stays all year round.

The local hostelry, The Boat Inn, is popular with guests and sits at the iconic Aboyne bridge. Aboyne itself has a small selection of interesting shops and coffee shops to visit and also has amenities such as a supermarket, petrol station and health facilities.
