After a day of exploration, you can return to the warmth and comfort of this charming cottage.

Dating back to around 1890, Thornbank is small but cosy, accommodating up to four guests. It is thoughtfully equipped with everything you need to escape the stresses of daily life and enjoy a relaxing break in the Highlands. Inside, the living / dining room includes a wood-burning stove, there are electric radiators in all rooms and a small electric water tank with an electric shower. The kitchen is equipped with a full-size electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer and a combined washing machine and tumble dryer. Crockery, cutlery, pots and pans are provided and a stereo/CD player with MP3/iPod connection is available, although there is no TV. There is also a toilet and washroom on this floor for added convenience. Outside, the garden has pedestrian access to the village centre and features a fire pit and BBQ for outdoor cooking and evenings by the fire. Parking is available for one car at the rear of the cottage and a lockable shed offers secure storage for mountain bikes and gear. The woods behind the property make an excellent playground for children, who can enjoy exploring and building dens while keeping an eye out for red squirrels, rabbits and jackdaws.

The village of Braemar offers a variety of conveniences and attractions, including a Co-Op supermarket, post office, butcher, garage and fuel station and a pharmacy. Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate the mountain sports equipment and clothing shop, while a range of cafes, restaurants and art and craft shops cater to all tastes.
