The Urquhart
Details
Tucked inside a beautifully converted former brewery, The Urquhart offers a warm and welcoming space for up to six guests. Designed with comfort and connection in mind, it’s an ideal retreat for families, friends, or groups travelling together. The house blends generous shared spaces with quiet nooks, making it easy to enjoy everything from lively meals and conversation to moments of peaceful relaxation.
Inside, the living areas are filled with natural light and a sense of openness. The mezzanine sitting room provides a bright, elevated spot to unwind, while the fully equipped modern kitchen and separate utility area offer all the essentials for everyday living. The sleeping arrangements include a king-size master bedroom, a smaller double room and a stylish twin room, all complemented by two walk-in shower rooms. For those needing a quiet place to work or reflect, a dedicated desk space is also available.
The ground floor is designed for socialising and catching up. Guests can dine or gather in the welcoming Vestibule and Garden Room, which flow seamlessly into The Pheasant Bar — a lively area complete with ample seating, its own bar and games such as pool, darts, and table football. Whether you're enjoying a casual evening or trying out a selection of local whiskies and gins, this space invites fun and connection. We’re also happy to arrange tasting tours for those interested in exploring regional favourites.
For a change of pace, The Den offers a cosy setting to relax with a film, enjoy a gaming session, or pick from the collection of classic board games. It’s also the perfect corner for a quiet coffee or a good read. An accessible ground-floor toilet adds to the overall convenience.
Located just off the centre of Oldmeldrum, The Urquhart enjoys easy access to local shops, cafés and restaurants, with convenient parking directly opposite. The area is rich in history and outdoor attractions, with highlights including the Gairloch Heritage Centre, East Aquhorthies Stone Circle, Bennachie Visitor Centre, Kemnay House and Fyvie Castle. The property is also well-situated for nearby wedding venues and golf courses, making it an excellent base whether you're attending a celebration or simply exploring the area.
Whether you're planning a restful countryside escape, an event-filled weekend, or a comfortable stop on a longer journey, The Urquhart combines charm, convenience and a sense of home, making it a memorable place to stay.
