Turriff, Aberdeenshire

Details

East Balthangie is ideally situated for exploring Banff and Buchan. Located 600 feet above sea level on a gentle slope facing southeast, the site enjoys sunshine for most of the day and is sheltered by trees on the northern side.

The site offers a variety of accommodation options. Touring caravan grass pitches are fully serviced with electric and water hookups. Motorhome and campervan pitches are also fully serviced with electric and water hookups, and a tank filling point. Family tent or trailer tent pitches come with optional electric points and there is a Wee Bivvy non-electric pitch suitable for two people.

Amenities at East Balthangie include well-maintained toilets and showers, with two gents’ and two ladies’ toilets and power showers available at no extra charge. The campers' kitchen is equipped with a sink, hot and cold water, an electric kettle, a microwave, a kitchen table and chairs and an outside primus stove point.

Pets are very welcome at the site and there is a secure dog exercise area with 5' fencing over approximately 2 acres. A chemical disposal point is available at no extra charge. The laundrette charges £3.00 per wash and £2.00 to tumble dry a wash load.

This peaceful five-acre site in rural Aberdeenshire offers direct access to the North Sea Cycle Route and is just a 20-minute drive from Banff and 25 minutes from Fraserburgh. The area has a wealth of beautiful and interesting places to visit and enjoy. The Castle and Coastal Trails are within easy reach and of course the Distilleries are always popular. There are Museums and Art Galleries too and there are plenty of walks and country parks to visit. Wildlife is abundant - Deer, pheasants, buzzards and owls are just some of the regular visitors and our herd of nine grazing horses set a very tranquil scene.

The coastline is only 5 miles away to the North, where rugged cliffs, vitrified forts, caves, nooks and crannies are found. Here you will find the famous Pennan Bay, where the film Local hero was shot. To the East, beginning at Aberdeen beach, we have over 50 miles of golden sands running all the way North to Fraserburgh. The area has a wealth of beautiful and interesting places to visit and enjoy.
