Carradale Cottages offer self-catering accommodation in Carradale, set in a peaceful and scenic part of Argyll. Surrounded by beautiful countryside and coastal landscapes, the cottages provide an ideal base for a relaxing and restful holiday in one of Scotland’s most unspoilt regions.

Mhairis Cottage

Tucked round the back of our little complex, past the hen house, and the drying meadow, is Mhairi's Cottage. This traditional cottage sleeps 4, with one double room and a bunk bedroom for the kids, (or young at heart). Extremely solid bunks! but it's quite tiny, so strictly for 4 please. Completely redecorated throughout, we have retained its character with unashamedly old-fashioned furnishings. Sprawl around in the comfy living room where you have TV, music centre and Wi-Fi - even a wood-burning stove. However, don't worry - the kitchen is smoothly efficient with a washer/drier and dishwasher to make things easy for you. The bathroom has a bath and separate shower. Linen and towels provided (electricity & additional logs are extra). Mhairi's Cottage is nicely secluded and totally safe for children and dogs. The view from the back door looks over the fields to Carradale Bay - a south-facing bay with golden sands where you can guarantee that it's warm enough to swim in the summer.

Colin’s Cottage and Douglas Cottage started life as one farm building and now we've made it into two studio cottages.

Douglas Cottage

Douglas Cottage has a roomy living space, cheerfully furnished. In the style of the Scottish bothies, the double bed is a snug 'box bed' arrangement, tucked into its own recess and curtained off - but with plenty of storage space. The living area is TV, music centre and Wi-Fi- and for the more cerebral plenty of books and maps to browse through. Kitchen has everything to make your holiday easy: microwave, dishwasher and washer/drier. The highlight of this cottage, which makes it a favourite in winter, is the twee little log burning stove. One of our visitors thought this was the cooking stove, but you have a hob and a combi-microwave as well. Bed Linen and towels provided (but electricity and additional logs are extra). Strictly for singles or couples. Although it hasn't got a garden, Douglas has the most sheltered little sitooterie in the place where you can sneak in amongst the clematis and honeysuckle, read a book, get the barby going, and just be on holiday.

Colin’s Cottage

Colin’s Cottage features a bright, welcoming living space with a traditional Scottish bothy-style box bed, neatly tucked into its own curtained alcove and offering generous storage. The cottage is comfortably furnished for relaxation, with TV, music system, Wi-Fi, and a selection of books and maps to enjoy. A well-equipped kitchen makes self-catering effortless, with a hob, combi microwave, dishwasher, and washer/drier, while linen and towels are provided (electricity charged separately). Outside, a delightful sun-filled garden offers a peaceful spot to unwind, framed by towering fir trees, open fields, and even a distant glimpse of Ailsa Craig — a tranquil setting that both guests and their dogs will love.

Visiting the Area

Lying between the two distinct parts of the village, the cottages enjoy a peaceful position surrounded by forest and farmland, while still being within easy walking distance of local shops, restaurants and the beach in Carradale. This unique setting offers the best of both worlds, combining rural tranquillity with the charm of a coastal village. Nearby highlights include the beautiful sands of Carradale Bay, scenic walks along the Kintyre coastline, historic Saddell Castle and the renowned links at Machrihanish, making the cottages an ideal base for exploring this stunning part of Scotland.
