Argyll Backpackers offers simple, flexible and comfortable accommodation in the small hamlet of Inverneil, set on the shores of Loch Fyne. We are only 2 miles south of Ardrishaig and perfectly placed for a beautiful break for those en route to Oban and the Isles, Bute, Arran, Islay, Campbeltown or even Ireland. We are a great place to stay for singles, couples, families or groups looking to stay in Argyll.

Our lovely hostel offers superb loch views and great access to fantastic cycling and walking routes. We have a brilliant range of self catering options to choose from, with 7 en suite bedrooms available which can be rented out on a flexible basis to meet your needs. Whether it’s booking a self catering unit for either 4 or 6, or a room only basis with tea/coffee making facilities, please contact us to confirm.

Self-catering units: Two options are available, with each including a private entrance and outside seating. 4 guests can be catered for by combining the double and twin, including use of a kitchen and seating area. We can also cater for 6 guests by combining the twin and a 4 bedded or double/triple room with a kitchen and dining/lounge area.

Hostel: We have en suite bedrooms including a fully disabled bedroom and access to the indoor common area when available and COVID-19 restrictions allow. Each room has tea/coffee making facilities, with an optional breakfast bag available.

Wee Snug: Our wonderful, private retreat is set above the main hostel. The retreat comes with a double bedroom and a double bed settee in the lounge. Our fully self catering apartment is perfect for any special occasion.

We have a relaxing open plan common room with a lounge, dining area and fully equipped kitchen with 3 separate cooking areas. Please note that during COVID-19 restrictions, these facilities are only available for sole use bookings.

You enjoy a few treats from the hostel shop which stocks a limited selection of tinned foods, pot noodles, energy bars and drinks, Costa Lattes, as well as microfibre towels.

Argyll has lots of fascinating places to visit and fun activities to enjoy. You can unwind on the beach in front of the hostel or go canoeing/kayaking/paddle boarding. Cyclists are spoilt for choice, as we are only 300m from the Sustrans Caledonia Way. History fans can visit Dunadd, an Iron age fort where many of the ancient Kings of Scotland were crowned.
