Halftown Cottages in St Catherine's offers charming self catering accommodation, nestled by the shores of Strachur. Our two romantic cottages are perfect for an idyllic break in Argyll.

Our gorgeous cottages are set in a secluded location, set in 440 acres of stunning woodland, home to an amazing array of wildlife. We are perfect for the ultimate rural retreat in a magical setting.

These are cottages for all seasons with thick walls, central heating, log fires (initial supply of wood), natural wood finishes and latch doors. Both cottages were completely renovated and refurbished in 1996, with kitchen extensions built beyond the existing walls, and extensive bathroom facilities installed.

McHugh Holiday Cottage: Sleeps 4 with two bedrooms; one double bedroom (first floor) and one twin bedded room (ground floor), a sitting room with open fire, and television.

The kitchen has an automatic washing machine, electric cooker, microwave fridge and freezer. Separate cloakroom with toilet and wash basin downstairs and an upstairs bathroom with bath and shower. There is a cupboard for hanging space, ironing board, and vacuum cleaner. There is also an entrance porch and hallway.

Loudon Holiday Cottage: Sleeps 4 with two bedrooms; one double bedroom (first floor) and one small twin bedroom with two beds (ground floor). Bathroom with toilet, washbasin and bath with electric shower overhead. Sitting room with open fire and television. Kitchen with automatic washing machine, electric cooker, microwave fridge and freezer. Cupboard with hanging space, ironing board and vacuum cleaner. There is an entrance porch and hallway.

Lock Eck is about 10 miles from Halftown. It is generally regarded as one of the most beautiful areas of Scotland. The west side of the loch has been totally uninhabited since the iron age and there are a number of archaeological sites. The Coylet Inn, one of the hostelries on the east side of the loch, hires boats daily for fishing and exploration.
