Orchard Farm Camping offers camping for those who appreciate the simpler aspects of life. This campsite spans just under an acre in the lush Ayrshire countryside, welcoming dogs, campfires, campervans and motorhomes. However, it's important to note that Orchard Farm is a basic facility with predominantly grassy pitches, lacking a chemical disposal point and with limited space for manoeuvering, making it ideal for guests with smaller setups or tents. If you're seeking a charming spot to experience Scotland's southwest, a region once roamed by Robert Burns, this might just be the place for you.

Orchard Farm serves as an excellent off-grid point for exploration in every direction. Conveniently located just off a main road (which is relatively quiet), it provides easy access to the nearest shop and pub, Maybole and areas beyond. Upon arrival, you might greet Phil, the owner, before walking about 50 metres to select your pitch spot, chosen freely without the confines of electricity or designated markers. The site offers basic amenities, including a couple of compost toilets, a few semi-outdoor hot water showers and a drinking water tap. Campfires are permitted in off-ground fire pits, which you can rent from Phil or bring yourself, allowing you to savour the simple joys of camping.

The nearest town, Maybole, holds historical significance as the meeting place of Burns' parents, with the poet's birthplace converted into a museum just eight miles away. Moreover, the campsite is a short 11-mile journey to the Scottish west coast, where you can enjoy Maiden’s Beach, view Ailsa Craig and the Mull of Kintyre, or explore the clifftop wonders of Culzean Castle, its gardens and country park. For those inclined towards inland adventures, the Galloway Forest's mountain biking trails are similarly distant, offering diverse activities for every camper.
