Brynhyfryd Cottage
Details
Brynhyfryd Cottage, a former farmworker’s dwelling dating back to the late 18th century, is set along a quiet country lane on the outskirts of the charming village of Caio, situated on the border of Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion in West Wales. Its location offers a peaceful retreat amidst picturesque countryside.
Lovingly restored by the current owners, the cottage retains its authentic charm and character. Original features such as exposed beams, a traditional bread oven and a fireplace have been thoughtfully preserved. The fireplace now houses a wood-burning stove, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere, complemented by comfortable sofas, Smart TV with FreeSat, DVD player, Wifi and a pine dining table and chairs.
The adjoining kitchen features bespoke pine units and is fully equipped with everything you might need for a comfortable and homely stay including dishwasher, microwave, electric hob & separate oven and a washing machine.
The downstairs shower room, located just off the kitchen, is fully tiled and features a spacious walk-in shower with a drying area, a toilet, a wash basin and a heated towel rail. It also offers ample storage space, with a first aid kit conveniently placed in the bathroom cupboard. Adjacent to the shower room, a large under-stairs storage cupboard houses an ironing board, iron, and clothes dryer, providing practical amenities for your stay.
Stairs from the living area lead to two eaves bedrooms: one with a double bed and the other with twin beds. Both rooms feature dormer windows, sloping ceilings and thermostatically controlled radiators, preserving the cottage's original charm. A large storage cupboard on the landing provides hanging space and houses a travel cot. Built-in wooden stair gates are located at the top and bottom of the stairs for added safety.
Outside, you'll find a small, fully enclosed private garden with a patio, lawn, storage shed and garden furniture. A barbecue is also available for guests to enjoy. The property offers private off-road parking for two cars.
We are only a 1/2 hour drive to the beautiful coastal towns of Aberaeron and New Quay and there is easy access to the Brecon Beacons National Park.
