Andersen Boats
Details
Choose Andersen Boats for your next canal boat holiday and enjoy the difference that over 40 years of family-run experience can make. Based in Middlewich, Cheshire, we offer narrowboat holidays on some of the finest canal routes in England and North Wales. From the moment your journey begins, we aim to provide a truly unique experience, offering the highest standards in boat design, comfort and carefully selected routes for the perfect UK canal holiday.
Each of our boats is built by us from scratch, starting with sheets of metal and wood. This hands-on approach ensures a boat that is not only well-designed and expertly crafted but also unique. Our reputation is built on the consistent quality of our boats and the memorable holidays enjoyed by our guests. Every vessel is equipped with essential amenities including a shower, fresh water flush toilet, refrigerator, cooker and central heating. Boats with full 240V systems also include microwaves. You’ll find a stereo radio with CD player, mobile phone socket (bring your own 12V car lead) and either a 240V socket rated at 150 watts or a full 1500+ watt system.
At no extra charge, we provide an LCD TV with Freeview and DVD player, car parking, all fuel, a hairdryer and full bedding including duvets and pillows. For families, we offer cot sides and child gates (for semi-traditional style boats) on request and buoyancy aids are available for all, with compulsory use for children under 16. We have 2 berth boats up to 10 berth boats.
Our location in Middlewich gives you access to a wide variety of route options. Whether you're looking for peaceful, rural cruising or routes that take you through vibrant towns and cities, there's something for everyone. The Llangollen Canal is a popular choice, offering dramatic landscapes, historic aqueducts and the lively town of Llangollen. The Caldon Canal is a hidden gem, winding through the picturesque Potteries. You can also head toward Chester, a Roman city rich in history and continue on to the fascinating Boat Museum at Ellesmere Port.
These routes are all out-and-back journeys, allowing you to go at your own pace, but for those seeking more adventure, we suggest circular routes like the Cheshire Ring or the Four Counties Ring. Each canal has its own unique character, shaped by its history and the engineers who built it, offering surprises and delights around every bend.
You're welcome to tailor your journey and explore further if time allows. With plenty of guides and maps available and our team always happy to help, we can assist you in choosing the ideal boat and route to make your UK canal holiday unforgettable.
We welcome up to 2 dogs for free of charge by arrangement and allow an extra dog at an additional £30 per stay, please advise when booking.
