Cormorant provides award-winning self catering accommodation in Poughill. We are in a beautiful setting with private grounds and all-weather facilities to enjoy. The scenic seaside town of Bude is nearby and we are a great base for exploring Cornwall.

Our cottage is one of 3 cottages in the Well Courtyard, once part of the original stable block. The ground-level cottage is beautifully furnished and opens onto a secluded and safe courtyard to the front. Large patio doors from the dining room open onto a pretty enclosed garden with a table, seating and BBQ. You can even relax with a glass of bubbly in the luxurious hot tub.

A fully fitted Shaker-style kitchen comes with a cooker, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster and cafetiere. You can savour some home-cooked delights around the 8-seater dining table. Unwind in the lovely sitting area which comes with a large HD flat-screen TV with Freeview, DVD player/Blu-ray player and CD/radio player.

Three bedrooms are available, a king, twin and a third bedroom with bunks. It is suitable for four adults and two children. The bedrooms include quality cotton bed linen and fluffy cottage hand and bath towels.

Fabulous facilities onsite are available for all the family, including a heated indoor pool and jacuzzi, spa treatments, heated outdoor pool (seasonal), gym and sauna. We also have activities for children, such as a games room and play areas. A range of horse-riding experiences are available and we have a tennis court.

If you don’t fancy going to one of the local restaurants, we can offer an in-cottage dining service and croissants, prepared by local chef Nicky Vereker, using fresh, local ingredients. You can also play a game of snooker while enjoying a drink at our licensed bar.

Cormorant is within walking of the famous seaside town of Bude. The town is renowned for its sandy beaches, Bude Sea Pool, Bude Castle and lots of delicious restaurants. Within 30 minutes to an hour’s drive, you will also find a great range of magnificent historic houses to visit, including Prideaux Place, Pencarrow and The Lost Gardens of Heligan. 30 minutes away is Tamar Otter & Wildlife Centre, a fantastic place that houses an amazing range of wildlife in its 21 acres of grounds.
