The Land's End Vineries
Details
We offer self-catering holiday accommodation in the peaceful countryside of rural West Cornwall. Conveniently located halfway between Land’s End and Porthcurno, our bungalows provide easy access to the South West Coast Path, making them perfect for walkers, birdwatchers and families.
We have four dormer bungalows available for self-catering holidays, each designed to comfortably sleep up to six people.
Mallard is located at the top end of The Vineries, near the upper car park. This bungalow features a dormer room with a double bed and a single bed beneath a sloping ceiling, accessed via open-plan stairs from the living area. On the ground floor at the rear of the bungalow, you’ll find two additional bedrooms. One contains a set of bunk beds and the other has a double bed positioned with one side against the wall. Each bedroom is furnished with a wardrobe, chest of drawers and a bedside table for your convenience. The ground floor also houses the bathroom and a separate toilet. The bathroom has a bath with a shower over it, which runs off the hot water system. At the front of the bungalow, the open-plan living room, kitchen and dining area offer comfortable seating, a TV and a reading lamp for relaxing evenings. The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas cooker, microwave, under-counter fridge-freezer, electric kettle, toaster, cafetiere and a teapot. You’ll also find sufficient crockery, cutlery, glassware, pots, pans and cooking utensils for your stay.
The other three bungalows - Rowan, Blackbird and Beech are fitted out in the same way as Mallard and offer the same sleeping capacity. We aim to keep Mallard and Blackbird pet-free for guests with allergies, while Rowan and Beech are pet-friendly and can accommodate up to two dogs. Pet owners are asked to bring their own food bowls, bedding and other essentials. Pets are not permitted on the furniture and owners are expected to exercise dogs away from the bungalows and gardens and clean up after them promptly.
Bed linen is included in the rental price and we provide a tea towel, J-cloth, toilet roll, bin bags, washing up liquid, handwash and a welcome pack of tea, coffee and local treats to get you started. Gas for central heating and cooking is also included. While there is no wifi on-site, you may be able to use mobile data depending on your provider. Free wifi is available in several nearby cafes and in Penzance. Guests can use the free, non-assigned off-road parking located in either the upper or lower car park.
Just outside the lower entrance to The Vineries is a request bus stop with services to and from St Just, Land’s End, St Buryan and Penzance and from there to other parts of Cornwall. All guests are welcome to enjoy the communal site gardens, which are a bit wild but loved by children, who should be supervised at all times. A short, level walk from the site will bring you to a parish playing field, which has a small playground and goalposts, making it a great place for kids to let off steam or for a casual game of football.
The surrounding area is rich with natural beauty, offering beaches, coves, dramatic cliffs and sweeping views of the Atlantic Ocean. The coastal moors and diverse wildlife provide plenty of opportunities for walking, wildlife spotting and photography. You might even catch a glimpse of the rare Cornish chough. For those wishing to venture further, consider a visit to the scenic Helford River, made famous by Daphne du Maurier’s Frenchman’s Creek, or the maritime town of Falmouth, home to St Mawes and Pendennis castles. When the tide allows, it’s also possible to take a boat up the River Fal to the city of Truro.
