Lostwithiel: Just over the hill from Eden Valley lies the ancient stannary town of Lostwithiel Cornwall’s hidden treasure, nestling in the Fowey River valley and overlooked by the 12th century Restormel Castle. This ancient town with its quaint old buildings is full of the hustle and bustle of everyday life, centring around St. Bartholomew church which dates back to before 1170. The town is surrounded by beautiful countryside with the Fowey River meandering through the centre of the town.

Fowey: Follow the river down from Lostwithiel for some 6 miles and you will find the historic seaport of Fowey. A natural harbour and a haven for yachtsmen and also a popular destination for several cruise liners. The town has a selection of quality restaurants, local shops and galleries, exhibiting local artists work.

Lanhydrock: The National Trust jewel in the crown. A perfect historic country house and gardens a magnificent collection of magnolias, camellias and rhododendrons. Beyond you can follow numerous paths through woods and parkland down to the banks of the River Fowey, haunt of otters and kingfishers.

Bodmin Moor: Home to the Beast of Bodmin the wild and beautiful moor has a wealth of mysteries, legends and archaeological remains: standing stones, burial chambers, bridges, cottages and farms all built from granite boulders taken from the surface of the moor.
