Otter Moss Accommodation
Details
Otter Moss Accommodation offers a glamping experience in a stunning location in the Eden Valley, set on a private estate where red deer can often be seen right outside your door. It is ideally located close to Hadrian’s Wall and the Lake District, making it a great base for exploring the area. A charming village with a pub is just two miles away, and the site is particularly popular with cyclists, fell walkers and history enthusiasts due to its proximity to such iconic landmarks. The accommodation includes a beautiful 6-metre bell tent, which shares the site with a wooden pod that sleeps four, with both units sharing a washroom. There is also a shepherd’s hut available, complete with its own ensuite facilities and a log cabin.
The pod is set within a picturesque two-thirds of an acre site that is full of wildlife. It is equipped with low-voltage electricity, a small heater, toaster and kettle. Inside, there is one double bed and two single beds, with bedding provided. Guests also have access to a double-ring gas stove with one gas canister included, along with pots, pans, cooking and eating utensils and basic supplies such as tea, coffee and sugar. Outside, there are four camping chairs and a boule set for relaxation and entertainment.
The log cabin offers a more private and comfortable stay, with guests able to wander down the lane to the meadow, explore the small lake, or take out the rowing boat. The cabin features a luxurious king-size bed, microwave, two-ring gas stove with a gas canister provided, a brazier and barbecue, kettle, fridge and electricity. Nearby, there is a shed that has been converted into a fully functional washroom, which is exclusively for guests staying in the log cabin and not shared with others.
The bell tent is a spacious 6-metre structure featuring a luxury super king bed, set in a stunning location at the end of the Eden Valley. With Hadrian’s Wall on the doorstep and the North Lakes just a 40-minute drive away, it offers both seclusion and convenience. The tent is situated on the same two-thirds of an acre site, which includes a small lake with three islands and a boat, surrounded by abundant wildlife. It shares the space with the wooden pod and both accommodations use a shared washroom equipped with a shower, toilet, and sink. There are also external sockets on the wash hut for charging phones.
The shepherd’s hut is a beautifully handcrafted and fully wood-lined space, offering a stylish and romantic retreat with its own ensuite. It is well equipped with an oil-fired electric heater and a small wood burner, although wood is not provided. Inside, guests will find a full-size fridge, kettle, toaster, two-ring gas stove, utensils, crockery and many other thoughtful touches to ensure a comfortable stay.
Guests are welcome to make use of the rowing boat on the small lake and explore its islands, or stroll up to the log house at the end of the drive to see the resident red deer. The surrounding area offers access to the Northern Fells and Hadrian’s Wall right on the doorstep, along with fantastic cycling routes. The North Lakes are just a 40-minute drive away and there is a great selection of pubs nearby, with the closest only two miles away. The market town of Brampton is five miles from the site and features a train station, two excellent butchers, numerous antique shops and plenty more to explore.
