Thornfield Camping Cabins are nestled in a beautiful part of Cumbria, on the edge of the Lake District National Park at Dalston. Our glamping pods provide comfortable and homely accommodation, that is perfect for those who want a break away from the stresses of modern day living.

The pods are a real “back to nature” holiday experience, as they are surrounded by woodland walks, a range of wildlife and extensive rural views, whilst being fully equipped with everything you need for a self-catering break. All pods also come with their own hot tubs, which have wooden gazebo structures built over them, to protect them from the British weather and to provide a bit of privacy.

Guests can choose from our two different types of pods; Fox & Badger, our extra large pods and Pheasant, Owl, Deer & Squirrel, our large pods.

Fox & Badger

Amenities & features include:

Full bathroom-separate shower cubicle, toilet and sink.

Underfloor heating, a country style kitchen with a Belfast sink.

Sleeping up to 4 adults (one king-size bed and one double bed settee) or 2 adults and 3 children (maximum).

Includes the use of either a one or two ring portable induction hob with pans - available on request.

Fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster.

Crockery and cutlery.

Pheasant, Owl, Deer & Squirrel

Amenities & features include:

En suite wet room (Includes, shower, toilet & sink).

Underfloor heating.

Sleeping up to 4 adults (one double bed and one double bed settee) or 2 adults and 3 children (maximum).

Fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster (Please note: No hob/rings).

Crockery and cutlery.

Bedding can be provided to cyclists or walkers, please do advise when booking if this is required. Please note that there is an additional charge for bedding of £18.

In addition to our glamping pods, guests can also hire a private hot tub during their stay. If booking multiple pods with hot tubs; it is a minimum of one hot tub to two pods with a maximum occupancy of 4 to 6 people at any one time dependent on which pods you are staying in (see above) The cost of the hot tub facility is: £108.00 inc VAT for the duration of your stay (This facility MUST be booked and paid for in advance giving at least 24 hours notice).

Due to the close proximity of the camping cabin site to the northern fells and lakes (Keswick, Ambleside etc) the site is ideal for those walkers who wish to explore the fells and lakes along with the border city of Carlisle and Hadrian’s Wall. We are situated only one mile from the nearest public house (The Bridge End Inn) which can be accessed via footpaths of which there is one which starts directly opposite the site. There is a regular bus service to Bridge End and we are only 2 miles from Dalston village centre which has a host of amenities available; along with a train station to access the western Lake District and the City of Carlisle.
