Low Jock Scar Country Estate offers self catering accommodation only a few miles from the market town of Kendal. Our large country estate is nestled beside the banks of the Bannisdale Beck and boasts a private woodland, perfect for a group getaway in Cumbria.

Our 4 cottages are ideal for a group or family gathering in a gorgeous location. Our cottages have been tastefully built from traditional Lakeland stone with slate roofs and enjoy outstanding views of the gardens. The cottages are beautifully furnished and come with everything you need for an idyllic rural retreat. Inside there are well-equipped kitchens for home cooking, cosy living areas with toasty wood burners and modern bathrooms. There are two luxurious hot tubs to soak away your troubles in, one is in the woods and one is by the river.

While staying with us you can enjoy the stunning grounds, we have recently spotted 2 nesting kites and you will also possibly see barn owls, woodpeckers and red squirrels. In spring, enjoy the row of daffodils along the riverbank, or in summer savour the green lawns and trees. The bank of the Beck has a decking area with dining furniture and a BBQ for al fresco dining whilst admiring the setting.

Lake Windermere and Lake Allswater are all within a 15 minute drive from the estate. This part of the country has an abundance of glorious scenery to enjoy, perfect for walkers and cyclists. Great walks in the area include ones at Tarn Crag, Grey Crag, Borrowdale, Bretherdale and Bannisdale Horseshoe. You can also enjoy a spot of wild swimming at Potter Darn or Gurnal Dubs.
