Abbot Park Farm Campsite in Bandrake Head is a small, family-run site set within 120 acres of countryside near Ulverston, on the edge of the Lake District National Park. Surrounded by peaceful rural scenery, it offers lovely views across the western Lake District and the Furness Peninsula, with an abundance of wildlife including butterflies, birds and deer, creating a calm and natural setting for a relaxing break.
The campsite provides a quiet and intimate experience with a maximum of just three pitches, making it ideal for those seeking tranquillity. Small campervans are welcome, although caravans and trailer tents are not permitted and a strict quiet policy after 10:30 pm ensures a peaceful environment, particularly suited to families. A well-maintained facilities block is available with separate amenities for males, females and accessible use, including showers, washbasins and flush toilets, along with washing-up facilities and a freezer for guest use.
For those looking for extra comfort, the site also offers luxury glamping in two camping barns, each accommodating up to six people and featuring private facilities. Guests can also enjoy the on-site tea room, which opens for groups of eight or more and serves a selection of teas, coffees, chilled drinks, breakfasts, homemade cakes, light lunches and traditional afternoon teas.
The surrounding area offers plenty to explore, with numerous countryside walking routes right on the doorstep. Nearby towns and villages provide shops, restaurants and local charm, while popular attractions in the area include the Laurel and Hardy Museum, South Lakes Safari Zoo, Furness Abbey, Ulverston Canal and the Bowler Bar at the Laurel and Hardy Museum, ensuring there is something for everyone to enjoy.
