Eskdale Cottages - The Smithy & Mite Villa offers wonderful self catering accommodation in Eskdale near Holmrook. We are perfect for a peaceful holiday in Cumbria.

We have 2 cottages to choose from, The Smithy and Mite Villa. Both are well-equipped and child friendly. We can offer a box of age-specific toys, books and children’s DVDs. The cottages have a playground which includes a playhouse, swings and slide. Outside each cottage, there are gardens with seating.

Each cottage has linen with 100% Egyptian cotton, Egyptian percale bedding and lavish towels. The cottages include their own integrated washer/dryer and iron and ironing board.

The Smithy

Our cottage sleeps up to 4 people and includes a downstairs master bedroom. The cottage enjoys views of the River Mite and opposite there is lots of space in the barn for prams and bikes. A wood Bruner is well-stocked with wood supplied.

Mite Villa

This cottage sleeps up to 4 people in 2 top-floor bedrooms: 1 queen room and 1 room with 2 singles that can be made as a super-king. The cottage offers views over the children’s playground and the next door storage room can store bikes and prams etc.

Whilst staying with us you can explore the local area. Locally there are rivers for canoeing, fishing and swimming. You can enjoy lots of walks, including ones at Burnmoor Tarn, Scafell and the Roman Fort at Hardknott Pass. Attractions to visit include:

Bowfell.

Eskdale Golf Course.

Esk Pike.

Lingcove Bridge and Waterfalls.
