Baystone Bank Farm Campsite, situated in the Whicham Valley in the south-western Lake District National Park, Cumbria, offers a tranquil escape in a lesser-known gem with sweeping views across to Coniston, Duddon and deep into the Lake District, far from the crowded central areas. Here, breathtaking views greet you each morning and at night, the stars shine brilliantly, often illuminating the landscape during a full moon, making torches unnecessary.

Our campsite features grassy pitches alongside a gentle stream, perfect for children's play, with all main site pitches conveniently situated near the facilities and equipped with level ground and individual fire pits for cosy campfire evenings. The ‘Bramless’ and 'Little Mead' fields offer large, open spaces for tent pitching with stunning valley views and essential amenities close by. For those seeking a drive-on option, Bramless Drive-On Pitch B28 allows you to park and pitch conveniently by the gate.

Our glamping options elevate your camping experience. Partnering with WigWam Holidays™ and RotoSpa™, we offer luxury pods and award-winning hot tubs for a lavish stay. The farm's former orchard now features bespoke caravans on wooden decking, adorned with fairy lights and bunting, where families can enjoy the evening by fire pits (please, no fires on the decking). For the ultimate comfort, our custom-built Roundhouse features insulated wooden walls, a log burner and a fully equipped kitchen, providing a deluxe retreat for up to four guests, complete with all modern amenities.

Our on-site café, The Big Horse Shop and Café, serves a range of hot meals and beverages from a Full English breakfast to burgers, open daily from April to October.

To the south of the farm lies Baystone Bank, the ancient woodland along the bank and stream shelters an array of wildlife, including deer and buzzards, creating an idyllic setting for a peaceful campsite on a working farm. Just across the meadow, you'll find our unique horse riding centre, Cumbrian Heavy Horses, the world’s only BHS-approved Heavy Horse Riding Centre. Here, you can ride magnificent breeds like the Shire, Clydesdale, Ardennes and the rare Suffolk Punch along private farmland trails, with options suited for all riding skills.
