Kirkstone Foot Holiday Apartments offers fantastic self catering accommodation only a 2 minute stroll from Ambleside in Cumbria. We are the perfect base for exploring The Lake District and a range of attractions in the local area.

All of our cottages and apartments are nestled in 2 acres of immaculately landscaped grounds, ideal for an unforgettable holiday. Each property is beautifully furnished and comes with a range of excellent facilities to suit all your needs.

Bassenthwaite – Sleeps 2: This first-floor apartment has been individually designed and boasts views across Ambleside from the lounge. A well-equipped kitchen comes with a range of appliances and the large king room comes with an en suite bathroom.

Cartmel – Sleeps 2: Based in The Coach House, the apartment comes with a private entrance and a patio table with chairs to catch the evening sun. The open plan lounge leads to a contemporary kitchen. The bedroom comes with a double and a separate bathroom has a large walk-in shower.

Coniston – Sleeps 3: Our charming apartment is split level in design and on the first floor of Manor House. The spacious lounge and kitchen are on the same level and one step from the latter leads onto the delightful terrace area. The internal staircase leads to the two bedrooms. A large king room boasts exposed beams, stunning views towards Wansfell and includes a modern en suite. A single bedroom also has en suite facilities.

Duddon – Sleeps 2: Based in The Coach House, this twin bedroom apartment is on the ground floor. The apartment benefits from having its own private entrance and a patio table with chairs for al fresco dining. The open plan lounge leads to a well-equipped kitchen. A modern bathroom has a large walk-in shower.

Easedale – Sleeps 2: This first-floor apartment within Manor House comes with a tastefully furnished lounge/dining room and an open plan kitchen with a contemporary design. The king room and lounge both enjoy breathtaking views over Ambleside.

Fairfield – Sleeps 2: Our ground level apartment in The Coach House comes with a private entrance, new patio table and two chairs. The open plan lounge is perfect for unwinding in and leads to a contemporary kitchen. A double bedroom has use of a separate bathroom with a large walk-in shower.

Gardenside – Sleeps 4: This ground level apartment boasts a king size bedroom, twin en suite and shower/toilet room. The apartment is finished to a high standard and you can relax in the gorgeous lounge/dining room. A beautifully appointed kitchen will suit all your needs and feature windows enjoys wonderful views across the gardens and Stock Ghyll.

Gardenside – Sleeps 4: This ground level apartment comes with a king bedroom, twin en suite and shower/toilet room. The apartment comes with a private terrace with a patio table and chairs, ideal for a morning coffee whilst the sun is rising. The lounge/dining room is spacious and the fully fitted kitchen comes with a range of appliances.

Ghyllside – Sleeps 4: Our ground floor apartment comes with a private entrance and is accessed via a pebbled and paved path. Outside there is a large patio area with seating which offers a scenic setting for a leisurely lunch in the sun. The tastefully furnished lounge leads to a spacious kitchen/dining area. Two bedrooms are available: a king and twin room. Both rooms share a luxurious family bathroom.

Grasmere – Sleeps 2: This ground floor apartment benefits from having a private entrance and is accessed via the paved path in the garden. The open plan lounge/dining/kitchen will suit all your needs and a patio comes complete with a table and chairs. From the garden you can savour views towards Wansfell. The delightful bedroom comes with a king bed and en suite facilities.

Hardknott – Sleeps 2: The first-floor apartment in The Coach House comes with a twin room and a separate bathroom with a large walk-in shower. The open plan lounge leads to a modern kitchen which includes a breakfast bar.

High Spy – Sleeps 4: The top floor apartment in The Coach House boasts outstanding views from nearly every room. The penthouse apartment includes a spacious lounge/dining area, including a sofa bed in the lounge. Exposed dark beams add glorious character and large French windows open out to views across Ambleside. Bedrooms consist of a king and twin and there is also a shower room with a toilet and a separate bathroom with a WC.

Jasmine – Sleeps 2: This studio apartment is based on a quiet terrace at the rear of Manor House. The newly refurbished accommodation comes with an open plan kitchen/dining area, lounge and a king bedroom with a separate bathroom. The apartment comes with a private entrance and an outside area and a patio table with chairs.

Kentmere – Sleeps 2: The first-floor apartment comes with a private entrance, king room and a spacious lounge. The well-equipped kitchen comes with a range of appliances to suit all your needs. A modern bathroom has a large walk-in shower.

Langdale – Sleeps 2: This first-floor apartment in Manor House comes with a king room boasting a stunning four poster bed. French windows lead out to a private terrace area where you can admire views over the gardens and Wansfeel Pike. The lounge/dining area comes with a modern kitchen. A separate bathroom is also available.

Loughrigg – Sleeps 3: The apartment comes with a private entrance, large lounge/dining area and open plan kitchen. The apartment is beautifully furnished and comes with a single room and large king room. There is also a modern bathroom.

Rowan – Sleeps 2: This ground floor apartment in Manor House is beautifully decorated and furnished to our usual high standard, with a well fitted open plan kitchen, dining and sitting area. The king room comes with a separate bathroom.

The Gables – Sleeps 4: This large apartment was refurbished in 2019 and comes with a fully equipped dining/kitchen area with views across to Loughrigg. The lounge comes with comfy seating and a TV. Two large bedrooms are available, a king and twin en suite. A separate bathroom is also available.

The Nook – Sleeps 2: Our ground level apartment in Manor House comes with a private entrance and a wonderful open plan kitchen/dining area. The apartment comes with tasteful décor, a king size bedroom and separate bathroom. Outside there is a table and chairs for al fresco dining.

Thirlmere – Sleeps 2: This ground floor apartment comes with a patio area and enjoys spectacular views over Ambleside. The sitting, dining and kitchen areas are open plan and the bathroom and king size bedroom are separate.

Ullswater- Sleeps 2: The lounge and kitchen area accessed from the front door of the apartment. The king room comes with en suite facilities. A cosy lounge/dining room will suite all your needs. A large picture window boasts stunning views of the grounds.

Wansfell – Sleeps 2: The apartment comes with a private entrance, open plan lounge, modern kitchen and double bedroom. A separate modern bathroom is also available.

Yewdale – Sleeps 2: This ground floor apartment within Manor House comes with a superb, beamed lounge/dining area and an open plan kitchen. Doors from the lounge lead to a glorious terrace area where you can savour majestic views. The large twin bedroom comes with a modern en suite bathroom.
