Brackenrigg House is a charming Victorian country home surrounded by extensive gardens, while just 75 metres away, Brackenrigg Barn Cottages feature three beautifully converted 19th-century cottages. Together, they are set within acres of picturesque grounds, including paddocks, meadows, woodlands and landscaped gardens, with stunning views of Helvellyn and the Dodds Fells. Located in the Naddle Valley, less than three miles from Keswick and a 10-minute drive from Grasmere, this peaceful retreat is ideal for exploring the Lake District’s fells and valleys directly from your doorstep.

Brackenrigg House - Sleeps 10

This is a spacious property sleeping up to 10 guests, featuring a double-aspect lounge with large bay windows offering stunning views of Helvellyn and a wood-burning stove, which opens onto a well-equipped kitchen/dining room with a handmade oak kitchen, electric range cooker and dishwasher. The house includes five generous en-suite bedrooms (three doubles and two twins), with the master suite boasting a jacuzzi bath and separate shower. Amenities include a games room with an air hockey table, a laundry room with a large washing machine and drying facilities and extensive outdoor spaces with a verandah, summer house, BBQ area, children’s play area and beautifully maintained gardens shared with Brackenrigg Barn Cottages.

Bleaberry Cottage - Sleeps 2

Bleaberry is a ground-floor studio cottage in a converted barn, offering an open-plan layout with a cosy lounge, smart TV, comfortable king-sized bed, ample wardrobe space and a well-equipped kitchen featuring an oven, halogen hobs, slow cooker, microwave and dining table. The en-suite bathroom includes a bath with a shower over. Outside, enjoy a seating area with a BBQ and stunning views, with access to a shared laundry room and acres of meadow and woodland to explore.

Brocklebeck Cottage - Sleeps 2

Brocklebeck is a ground-floor studio cottage for two, featuring a king-sized bed and stunning views of the Helvellyn range through its large arched barn window. The open-plan layout includes a well-equipped kitchen with an oven, halogen hobs, fridge, slow cooker, microwave and dining table, along with a comfortable sitting area with a sofa, tub chair and Smart TV/DVD. The en-suite bathroom offers a bath with a shower over. Outside, enjoy a seating area with a BBQ, a picnic lawn and access to a shared laundry room.

The Sett - Sleeps 4

The Sett is the largest of the three self-catering cottages in Brackenrigg Barn, offering a spacious and comfortable retreat in Keswick, the Lake District. Retaining original 19th-century features like stone walls, wooden beams and floor-to-ceiling windows, it provides stunning views of the Helvellyn range. Ideal for families, it sleeps four in two bedrooms, a master and a spacious twin, with a family bathroom featuring an over-bath shower. The open-plan living area includes comfortable sofas, a Smart TV, free Wi-Fi and a well-equipped kitchen with an oven, halogen hobs, fridge-freezer, microwave, dishwasher and breakfast bar. Outside, enjoy a fellside garden with patio, BBQ and views of visiting red squirrels.

The Grounds

The gardens and grounds around Brackenrigg House and Brackenrigg Barn Cottages offer plenty of space for children to play, quiet spots to relax and opportunities to watch local wildlife. Regular visitors include badgers, foxes, red deer, hares, red squirrels and a variety of songbirds, along with kestrels, sparrowhawks, buzzards, tawny owls and barn owls. For children, there’s an adventure play tower and a paddock for ball games.

Perfectly located in the heart of the Lake District, Brackenrigg is just a couple of miles from Keswick-on-Derwentwater, a Victorian market town offering shops, a Saturday market, restaurants, pubs, museums, a theatre, cinema, leisure pool, golf course and climbing wall.
