Bower House Inn, Lake District, Cumbria
A traditional English Lake District Hotel nestled in the Eskdale valley and remarkably accessible to travelers to the western lake district being less than 4 miles from the main Cumbria coast road. This original, 17th Century, Coaching Innís bedrooms have been a place of great comfort for visitors to Cumbria for over 400 years.
There are three distinctly different types of hotel accommodation to choose from at the Bower House Inn.
You can stay in the main Coaching Inn building, a warren of rooms running off 17th Century corridors framed in oak timber.
The adjacent converted barn Building with its modern bedrooms and conference facilities perfect for todays business traveller. Or the garden Rooms, hidden away to the side of the hotel, they offer a little more privacy and seclusion for the more seasoned traveller.
The Bower House has a reputation unrivalled in the Eskdale Valley for both its bar menu and its excellent A La Carte Restaurant. We offer wholesome home cooked food, freshly prepared using top quality local produce. The Restaurant and Bar offer homemade, locally sourced food along with homegrown herbs and salads, produced by our highly motivated chefs.
Our bar retains its old world charm and offers a warm, convivial atmosphere. There is a raging log fire so you can sit back, relax and enjoy our extensive range of good quality wines and our ever changing selection of well kept real ale, ensuring you can experience many ales you may have never tried, as well as those established Cumbrian favourites.
