The Steadings offers self catering accommodation in a farmhouse rural setting just minutes from the M6 motorway near Carlisle, Cumbria. The Steadings is a former farmhouse and outbuildings that have been converted to provide self contained luxury accommodation that is ideally located for exploring the Lake District National Park and the many varied attractions and places of interest in the surrounding area.

Accommodation with a difference! Steeped in history, our stylish barn conversions offer you comfort and privacy, adjoining our Grade II listed Georgian Farmhouse. Large spacious lounge areas, kitchens and a laundrette add to the comfort of your holiday.

Each holiday accommodation unit has its own kitchen and bathrooms and breakfasts can be offered if required. Perfect for secluded away from it all stays with plenty of parking. Our guests are also able to treat themselves to a beauty treatment at Eden Holistic Health and Beauty, based at The Steadings.

Historic Carlisle: This borders city history goes back 2000 years with a fine cathedral, Carlisle and award-winning museum Tullie House.

Carlisle Castle: Carlisle castle was originally built by William the Conqueror in 1092. It has been the setting for many battles and skirmishes over the years and more recently it is the home for the museum of the now defunct Kings Own Royal Border Regiment.

Hadrian's Wall: The Hadrian's Wall Heritage Trail and many historic landmarks are close by and The Steadings makes an ideal base to explore the area.

The Borders: For many years, the border area between England and Scotland was known as the 'debatable lands'. The families of the Grahams, Armstrongs, Elliots and many others fought and pillaged the area. Many buildings and sites remain today.

The Lake District: This world Heritage Site needs no introduction. The Steadings is convenient to the M6 motorway taking you to the heart of the lakes in less than an hour.
