Firgrove is a Listed Grade II Georgian House, is set within one and a half acres of prize-winning gardens overlooking the beautiful Vale of Clwyd and the Clwydian Range, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We are only a few minutes drive from the medieval Market town of Ruthin.

We have 3 wonderful bedrooms to choose from, 2 double rooms in the main house and a self-contained cottage suite. All the bedrooms are beautifully furnished and come with free Wi-Fi/internet access, en suite facilities and a beverage tray & fridge with fresh milk and bottled Welsh water.

The Cottage Suite: The Cottage Suite is within a single-storey extension completed about 70 years ago and comprises a self-contained ground floor suite including king size bed, sitting room with small wood-burning stove and a small kitchen, suitable for preparing light suppers. The bathroom is a 'Wet Room' with power shower, wash basin and WC. Bathrobes are provided. The lounge has a TV and Radio/CD Player and there is free WIFI access. The suite is centrally heater with secondary electric heaters.

Room F: Room F is within the house on the first floor and is a double bedroom with queen size four-poster bed. The two large windows offer spectacular views of The Vale of Clwyd, Clwydian Range, an 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' and the woods once occupied by the cavalry of Owain Glyndwr waiting to attack and capture Ruthin on the 20th Sept. 1400. The bedroom has two easy chairs in which to enjoy a quiet cup of tea or coffee from the beverage tray with fresh milk from the small fridge, watching TV or listening to the radio or even using the Free WIFI. The en-suite bathroom comprises a large walk-in shower, wash basin and WC. Bathrobes are provided.

Room R: Room R is at the front of the house on the first floor with views of the prize-winning garden, fields and woodland. The bedroom has a queen-sized four-poster bed. The en-suite shower room has large bath sheets and bath robes. The room has a TV, a radio and Free WIFI access. There is a beverage tray, also a small fridge supplied with fresh milk and bottled Welsh water.

Breakfasts are served between 8 and 9 am, There is a wide choice of fresh and stewed fruits, cereals, yogurts, continental meats and cheeses and fruit juices from the buffet tables. Fresh toast and preserves and a cooked selection is freshly prepared for those who wish. A selection of teas, freshly ground coffee and hot chocolate is available. Dinner is also available via 48 hours prior notice.

Firgrove is surrounded by one and a half acres of established gardens with mature Pines and clipped and shaped Yew trees. Visitors are welcome to relax in the gardens amongst the Hydrangeas, Camellias and Magnolias, many under-planted with Clematis. Philip is gradually introducing a selection of less hardy plants into the enclosed side garden and also trying to establish a small ornamental woodland corner for Ferns and shade-loving plants. Nearby Ruthin is a small town steeped in history with a Norman Castle and quaint narrow streets lined with timber-framed brick and stone houses around its central market square.

It is set in the heart of the vale of Clwyd surrounded by farmland and wooded areas and overlooked by the Clwydian mountains with the northerly section of Offa's Dyke long-distance footpath giving easy access to fine mountain views. Ruthin has a good selection of restaurants and one is within walking distance of Firgrove.
