The Old Vicarage
Details
The Old Vicarage is a seventeenth century listed building offering bed and breakfast in the village of Tideswell, an ideal central location from which to explore the Peak District and rural Derbyshire.
We have three period furnished bedrooms to choose from.
Church View, as the name suggests, has a view over the ‘Cathedral of the Peak’ church and has a super king bed plus en-suite with shower over an antique roll top bath.
School View, with views of the garden and The Old Grammar School (from which the Tideswell brass band can sometimes be heard playing). This room has a double bed and en-suite wet room.
Hall View, overlooking Eccles Hall and has a double bed and private bathroom with a shower over the bath.
We pride ourselves in serving locally sourced food for our breakfasts and try to fit in with all dietary requirements.
There is plenty to do and see within a short distance of Tideswell. For example, Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Lyme Hall, the plague village of Eyam, the market town of Bakewell and of course the spa town of Buxton with its famous Opera House and mineral waters. For those of a more energetic persuasion there are walks over Kinder Scout, Mam Tour and Curbar Edge plus many others (local knowledge and guide books provided). For Cyclists the delights of the Monsal, High Peak and Tissington trails beckon.
