Inside, the lodge features a spacious bedroom that can be arranged with either a super king or twin beds, offering flexibility for guests. A modern bathroom with a large walk-in shower and soft luxury towels adds to the sense of comfort. The fully equipped kitchen is ready for a self-catered stay, with a dishwasher, fridge with ice box, oven, induction hob, microwave, toaster, kettle and coffee machine all at your disposal. In the open-plan living area, a 50-inch Smart TV, Bluetooth speaker, a selection of games and books and free Wi-Fi ensure you can unwind in complete convenience.

Stepping outside brings you just metres from the lake’s edge, where fishing for two guests is included with no time restrictions. The floodlit waters even allow night fishing, making it possible to cast a line under the stars. The private lake is well stocked with a variety of species including Carp up to 20lbs, alongside Tench, Roach, Rudd, Bream, Perch, ornamental Goldfish and more. While day tickets are available for a limited number of outside anglers, the atmosphere remains peaceful, with no more than five fishing pegs in use at any time. Guests who prefer complete seclusion can also opt for exclusive lake hire, creating the perfect setting for special occasions or uninterrupted fishing sessions.

In addition to the waterside setting, guests have access to the Anglers’ Lodge, a cosy and sociable spot with comfortable seating and views across the lake, ideal for taking a break between casts. For those who enjoy walking, there are scenic trails directly from the doorstep, as well as easy access to the nearby Peak District National Park, with its rolling hills, woodlands and charming villages waiting to be explored.

Just a short drive away, the town of Matlock offers plenty to discover. From the historic Matlock Bath promenade to its independent shops, inviting cafes, and welcoming pubs and restaurants, there is always something to enjoy. Outdoor enthusiasts can also take advantage of cycling routes and climbing spots across the Derbyshire Dales and the wider Peak District.
