This stone barn conversion offers self-catering accommodation for up to three people.
The Barn has been tastefully converted to provide well-maintained, fully provisioned accommodation for up to 3 people. All doors, steps, stairs etc. conform to modern building standards.
The ground floor comprises a spacious bedroom with double bed and a full size bathroom with bath and overhead shower. Each is accessed off the entrance hallway by a single step. The hallway also has a single step.
The one large room upstairs, with views over nearby open countryside, provides an airy lounge, kitchen dining facility and contains the additional day-bed /sofa to provide sleeping accommodation for a third person (child or adult). The kitchen area has a cooker with fan assisted oven, microwave, fridge with small freezer compartment and washer/drier.
All rooms have thermostatically-controlled convector or storage heaters. All cooking/heating is by electricity (inclusive in rental prices). Bed linen and towels are provided.
For guests' use outside, accessed by stone steps, there is a pleasant small patio area with views over the main house garden.
The Peak District, set at the southern tip of the Pennines, is renowned for its dramatic and varied landscape. Staying at the Barn, much of this area is within a half hour's drive – be it the Peak District National Park ( Dovedale, Goyt Valley); great historic houses ( Chatsworth, Haddon Hall); picturesque towns and villages ( Buxton, Bakewell); or visitor attractions ( Crich tramway museum, Carsington reservoir). Slightly further afield there is the Hope Valley (Castleton caverns and Derwent Dams ) which is less than an hour's travel away.
The nearest city is Derby, though it is possible to have a day trip to Nottingham, Chesterfield, Sheffield, Manchester or the Potteries!
