Carringtons Barn at Ivy House Farm, Edale, Derbyshire
This romantic retreat for two is situated in a tranquil part of the Edale valley and offers an unusual contemporary barn conversion where you can relax and enjoy this beautiful area. It was designed by Sir Rod Hackney and has been appointed to the very highest standards.The setting means that it is easy to walk or cycle from the door and return to a cosy log fire and subtle mood lighting. The barn is in the grounds of a traditional Derbyshire farmhouse (grade II listed) and your hosts, Steve and Caroline look forward to welcoming you.
The barn has a large light double bedroom on the ground floor opening onto your private terrace with lovely views. The bedroom has an en suite toilet/washroom. Stairs to the first floor reveal a large living space with polished wooden floors and stainless steel fixtures.
Enjoy preparing meals in the state of the art hand built kitchen with views towards to Kinder Scout. The luxury bathroom features a jacuzzi spa bath offering relaxation after a day walking in the hills. Relaxing with coffee and the papers on the mezzanine is a treat for Sunday. The woodburner in living room (initial fuel inc) is highly efficient and the barn also has underfloor heating in all rooms. There is a large TV with Freeview. In good weather you will be able to enjoy your own prviate terrace for a glass of wine and a BBQ. Ample parking for several cars. No smoking. For your comfort, all towels and bed linen are provided at no charge and an initial allocation of logs, kindling etc are also provided free of charge. We regret that we are unable to cater for children.
Edale is well known for outstanding hill walking and is the start of the Pennine Way. Local attractions include the Blue John Caverns(Castleton), the Chatsworth and Haddon estates and the market towns of Buxton and Bakewell. Small but well stocked supermarket in Hope 6 miles, larger supermarket Chapel en le Frith, 8 miles pub 1 mile, restaurant 7 miles.
