Located in the picturesque area of Dovedale near Ashbourne, Lower Damgate Farm Cottages offers bespoke self-catering accommodation in the heart of Derbyshire. Set within a charming connected courtyard, each cottage boasts its own individual character while providing modern comforts in a peaceful countryside setting. An excellent base for exploring the Peak District and surrounding areas, the farm is ideal for long weekends, short breaks or family holidays, with views and scenic walks available directly from the doorstep.

The courtyard property includes Reubens Roost, Bremen’s Barn, Hope’s Hideaway and The Alpaca Hut. Around the cottages are south facing gardens as well as outside decking and seating areas where we have built three solid stone BBQ’s so you can cook for any occasion or taste. We have also B&B accommodation available in the farmhouse.

Reuben's Roost

Our Grade II Listed barn conversion has been fitted to a high standard and retains a wealth of individual charm. Inside you will find exposed beams, wooden and flagged floors, with plush rugs throughout. The kitchen is fully equipped and comes with a dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker as well as enough crockery and utensils. The bespoke beds are comfortable and come with bed linen.

Bremen's Barn

This restored Grade II listed barn conversion is perfect for large groups and features four spacious bedrooms. Fully equipped for a comfortable stay, the property blends original character features with modern technology, stylish furnishings and exceptionally comfortable beds. The impressive open-plan living and kitchen areas are located upstairs, stretching the length of the cottage and showcasing striking beamed trusses and large windows with picturesque views across the farm, creating a bright and inviting space to relax and socialise.

Hopes Hideaway

Our cottage is tastefully furnished throughout and has three ground floor bedrooms close to the bathrooms and an upstairs bedroom. The cottage retains many original features and comes with modern facilities to suit all your needs. The living and kitchen areas are upstairs and run the length of the cottage.

The Alpaca Hut

This little shepherd hut is perfect for a romantic break. Our quirky hut is luxurious and even comes with a hot tub to soak your muscles in. The perfect place to share a glass of bubbly under the starry night sky.

Onsite we have an animal sanctuary for rescued farm animals. You are welcome to meet the animals and feed them.

We cater for weddings, offering a slightly quirky venue, with every wedding at the farm different – please enquire for details.

Our farm is set in the Peak District National Park, nestling between the valleys of the River Dovedale and the Manifold. We are surrounded by National Trust land and are in an area of outstanding natural beauty. There are some lovely walks straight from the doorstep.
