Situated in a tranquil valley on the south-western edge of the Peak District National Park, Farbrook is an 18th-century working alpaca farm near the village of Flash, the highest village in Britain, offering a unique countryside escape. Overbrook Barn - Sleeps 8

This is an early 19th-century pink-gritstone shippon that has been transformed from a hay-lofted livestock barn into a stylish, fully heated holiday home. A private drive leads to parking for at least four cars beside the gate and once inside you step into an airy open-plan ground floor where kitchen, dining and sitting areas share three picture windows framing sweeping farm views. The well-equipped kitchen boasts Neff oven, ceramic hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge-freezer and washer-dryer, ready for adventurous cooks, while the lounge offers a log-burning stove, TV, Blu-ray player, music system and fast Wi-Fi. Off this space sits the main bedroom with a super-king bed and en-suite shower room. Upstairs are three further bedrooms, each configurable as twins or super-king doubles and a family bathroom with shower-over-bath. Natural fibre carpets, cotton linens and hypoallergenic bedding on request ensure restful nights. Outside, a gated, child-safe garden is lit for evening gatherings and furnished with seating for eight, a barbecue area and the option to hire a private hot tub, making Overbrook Barn an inviting base for families or friends exploring the Peak District’s walks, cycle trails and scenic villages.

Shearing Shed - Sleeps 6 + 2

Once the farm’s alpaca-shearing hub, the Shearing Shed has been transformed into contemporary, cosy accommodation that maximises its superb valley outlook: it sits at the end of a private drive with parking for at least four cars and its open-plan ground floor, living room, dining area and kitchen, features floor-to-ceiling windows framing views of the brook and adjacent alpaca feeding paddock, with a glass-balustraded patio just outside. The sleek kitchen is fully kitted out for cooking on a grand scale, offering a Neff oven, induction hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, washer-dryer and all the culinary kit you’ll need, while two generous dining tables can seat up to 22 guests. A sofa bed provides extra sleeping space and the lounge is warmed by a log-burning stove and equipped with TV, Blu-ray player, music system, phone and fast Wi-Fi. Upstairs are three bedrooms that convert between twin and super-king layouts, along with a walk-in shower room and an additional WC; natural-fibre duvets, cotton linens and hypoallergenic bedding on request ensure restful nights. Constant central heating keeps the property snug year-round and outside you’ll find a barbecue area and the option to hire a private hot tub, ideal for relaxing after a day exploring the Peak District.
