Old Keepers Cottage offers charming accommodation just a couple of miles outside the ancient market town and fishing port of Bideford. Nestled in 30 acres of fields, countryside and woodland, we are a haven for natures lovers. We are only 10 minutes from the Tarka Cycle Trail and Southwest Coastal Path and a great base for exploring Devon.

Our wonderful bed & breakfast offers an idyllic countryside retreat, enjoying glorious views over the valley and River Torridge. We have 4 elegant rooms available plus the option to combine an extra interconnecting room to make a family/friend’s suite.

All the rooms boast stunning views of either the river, garden or fields. Excellent facilities include complimentary tea, Nespresso coffee, water, biscuits, chocolates and mini bar plus TV, radio, hairdryer and bathrobes. Prices include breakfast and complimentary Devon cream tea on arrival.

The River View Room: Our largest room includes an antique wooden king size bed and en suite facilities.

Blue Room: Spacious super king/twin room with en suite walk-in shower. The room can be connected to our four-poster double bedroom to create a family suite. The bathroom is shared between the two rooms.

Garden Room: Our delightful double rooms has a separate private bathroom with a whirlpool bath and shower.

The Old Nursey: This comfy twin room has a separate private bathroom with a whirlpool bath and shower.

You can savour a delicious breakfast to set you up for the day ahead. Breakfast is cooked on the Aga and we use fresh, locally sourced products. In the summer you can enjoy breakfast/tea on the terrace whilst admiring fabulous views of the river.

We have a lovely guest sitting room with a TV, books and games to unwind in after a day sightseeing. We also have a music room with a Steinway grand piano.

North Devon is famous for its gorgeous coastline, from the miles of sandy beaches at Westward Ho!, Saunton, Croyde and Putsborough to the rugged and dramatic cliffs at Hartland Quay.
