Cockingford Campsite

Widecombe In The Moor, Newton Abbot, Devon

Details

Cockingford Campsite on the outskirts of Widecombe In The Moor offers pitches for campers and tourers in an idyllic countryside setting. Based on a charming working farm near Newton Abbot, we are ideal for a rural getaway in Devon.

Our campsite is nestled in gorgeous, unspoiled countryside, with The East Webburn River gently flowing along the bottom of the 3 camping fields. The site really is a natural haven, and you might even spot one of our animals, including lovely piglets. You even buy farm produce, whether it is our own eggs or milk from the local butcher.

The pitches are marked out with at least a 2-metre space between. We have a shower block with toilets and access to water. Please note we do not have electrical hook ups.

We have a WIFI in the lower part of the first field.

The area has an abundance of natural beauty to explore. You can walk up the hill on either side of the campsite and discover open moorland with a variety of scenic walks. A footpath from the farm to the main road leads to Widecombe village which is 1.5 miles away. The village has a small shop selling essentials, gifts shops, a National Trust property, cafe and pubs. Further afield in Ashburton you can find lots of local shops, an open-air swimming pool and small museum.
